Caution. In vehicles Octavia Limousine insert the boot
EN
dish in inclined position. At the point of the 5th door
sill, the opening into the boot is narrowed. Be careful
not to damage the 5th door seal or the boot lining.
Then push the plastic boot dish slightly onto the boot floor -arrow-.
The position of the plastic boot dish in the boot
(Fig. 5)
When positioned correctly, the dish must sit directly on the floor of
the luggage compartment, covering the entire surface.
Placing the dividing barrier in the plastic boot
dish (Fig. 6)
If you need to part the stowage space of the plastic boot dish,
push the dividing barrier in the respective groove in the boot dish
(according to the required size of the space).
If there is no object in the boot dish, insert the dividing ALU barrier
into the so-called stowage position (as close as possible to the
backseat rests) -arrow 1- detail.
Taking the plastic boot dish out of the boot
If you do not intend to use the dish, take it out (for vehicles Octavia
Limousine) from the boot of the car by lifting the dish to inclined
position (as shown in Fig. 3) and then take it out carefully.
In vehicles Octavia Combi lift the dish above the level of the boot
threshold and then push it out towards yourselves.
Advice. If you need to lift the carpet of the vehicle
boot, first remove the dish from the boot.
8
Never take the boot dish out if there are any trans-
ported objects or the dividing ALU barrier inside (it
might cause rupture or break of the boot dish, or
damage to to the protective tapes stuck on the
external sides of the boot dish)!
Place heavy articles into the boot dish as close as
possible to the backseat rests. If you have the dividing
ALU barrier always bear in mind that the ALU barrier
only serves for splitting the space of the dish. It is in
no case designed to fix the load in the boot.
Always follow the instructions regarding safely trans-
porting items of luggage; see the Owner's Manual.
Always secure loaded items using suitable straps or
nets attached to the lashing eyes on the vehicle body.
Note: In some cases, access to the lashing eyes on
the vehicle floor is restricted when the dish is fitted.
It is then not possible to use the netting system from
the ŠKODA Original Accessories range for securing
transported items (there is a risk that the edge of the
dish as well as the protective tape on the dish will be
damaged by the plastic hooks on the nets). It is pref-
erable to use straps or, alternatively, nets that do not
have hooks or carabiners. First pull the straps (or nets)
loosely through the lashing eyes on the vehicle floor,
then carefully fit the dish in the luggage compartment.
Once the dish is in position, place your items in the
dish and pull the straps tight.
When the vehicle is in motion, the pieces of tape may
still be damaged due to the movement (friction) be-
tween the straps/nets and the dish.
Proceed with care also when taking out the dish or
removing the nets/straps.
