Important Safety Instructions
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
This manual contains instructions and warnings that should be followed during the installation,
operation and storage of all Tripp Lite UPS Systems. Failure to heed these warnings may affect
your warranty.
Statement of Intended Use
Tripp Lite Medical-Grade UPS Systems are intended to support and protect non-medical and
medical computer equipment and medical devices in non-mobile applications that require leakage
current reduction, surge protection, voltage regulation, line noise filtering and battery backup during
power outages and generator testing, both inside and outside patient care vicinities. Tripp Lite's
Medical-Grade UPS Systems come with hospital-grade plugs and receptacles that reduce leakage to
below 100μA.
Note: The SMART700HG and SMART1200XLHG contain lead acid batteries designed to be connected
continuously to an AC power source, except during brief power outages. They are not intended for frequent charge/
discharge cycles, such as mobile cart applications where the UPS is often disconnected from an AC power source.
Using the SMART700HG or SMART1200XLHG in these types of applications will void the Tripp Lite battery warranty
and battery replacement will be the user's responsibility. For mobile applications, a UPS system with a lithium
iron phosphate battery is recommended, such as Tripp Lite's SMART700HGL or SMART1200XLHGL. Lithium iron
phosphate batteries provide up to 10,000 cycles, 20-30 times the cycle life of traditional batteries, making them
ideal for mobile cart applications. Visit www.tripplite.com for more information.
