POSSIBLE CAUSE(S)
1. Excessive end play in
motor.
2. Excessive discharge
pressure.
3. Leg bolts tightened
too tightly to floor.
4. Worn rods, wrist pin
or main bearings.
1. Compressor valves
loose and broken.
2. Inspect check valve, it
may knock at low
pressures.
SUGGESTED SOLUTION(S)
1. An unbalanced motor or load
creates vibration. Check for
excessive end play or loose
parts.
1.1 Realign the motor and
load. Check end play by
trying to move the motor
shaft in and out. Add end-
play washers as required.
1.2 If the shaft is bent, replace
the rotor or motor.
2. Reduce operating pressure.
3. Loosen leg bolts.
4. Check and replace worn parts.
1. Check and replace worn or
broken valves.
2. Remove and clean check
valve.
