CHANGING THE BATTERY

The clamp must be completely disconnected before changing the battery and it
I
must not enclose any conductor.
Check that the switch is in the OFF position.
I
Undo the tool-release screw at the back of the clamp and slide the cover into the
I
handle extension.
Connect up the battery (9V alkaline battery), then replace the cover.

SETTING ZERO

It is only necessary to set zero for measurements of DC current or for measurements
on AC with a DC component.
ΠConnect the E1N clamp to a
multimeter (black lead to the
common and red lead to the
«Volt» input).
 Place the function/range
switch of the multimeter on the
mV DC position. Choose a
measurement extent that has
a resolution of 1mV.
Ž Place the function switch
(located on the handle) on
position 1V/A.
Using the thumbwheel, display on the multimeter a value as close as possible to 0.
NB : for measurements of DC currents with low values (for example less than 5A), the
accuracy will be improved if the zero reset is done before each measurement. Zero
reset is also advised if the current to be measured is very different from that of the
previous measurement. For example, after measurements of 100A DC, we advise
resetting zero before measuring currents of around 10 amps. Zero reset is also
advised after changing the polarity of the current measured.
