Program modes in VELUX ACTIVE climate control

the controller receives signals from the wireless sensors that measure the
outdoor temperature and the solar radiation. Based on these measured
values, it is determined whether
- to screen the windows of the building either to avoid overheating during
the day or retain the heat at night.
- not to screen the windows of the building either to gain solar heat during
the day or cool the building at night.
the sensors send signals to the controller every 5 minutes which enables the
program mode that - with the given values - optimises the energy balance of
the building to the highest degree.
the display of the controller shows the current program mode. On receiving
the signals from the sensors, the program mode - and thus the display -
changes correspondingly.
Note: the program modes are expected to change a few times a day only.

There are four program modes:
the sunscreening products are down. the building is
screened from the solar rays which prevents overheating.
the sunscreening products are up. Solar heat is gained
which contributes to the heating of the building.
the sunscreening products are up. Surplus heat is released
from the building.
the sunscreening products are down. the heat loss is
reduced which contributes positively to the energy balance
of the building.
Even if the sunscreening products are controlled by the
controller, you can still operate them with another activa-
tion control such as remote control KLR 100. However, the
controller checks the position of the sunscreening products
once an hour and takes over control again.
You can interrupt the program for a pre-set period of time
which might be practical, if for instance, you are working
from home and therefore do not want the program to run.
the possible settings are: Permanent interruption, 2 hours,
6 hours, 12 hours and 24 hours.
