7. OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS

7.1. General recommendations

It is important to perform all the needed actions to keep the filters in the appropriate conditions to ensure their correct
operation. To do so, we recommend:
To follow the recommendations on installation indicated in point 3.2 of this manual.
To define a maintenance plan (minimum, annual, based on the usage of the installation) that includes the
replacement of the filtration media (if needed), a checking of the correct operation of the valves, and the
checking of the correct indication of the manometers.
To always keep in a good state of cleanliness the filters and the batteries of valves. Never use solvents, so they
could damage the plastic and/or the rubber components used in the filter, in the valves or in the accessories.
It is advisable to use neutral soapy solutions instead.
To carry out comprehensive visual inspections frequently, to be able to detect the fastest possible any variation
in the normal operation of the equipment.
At any time that defective or deteriorated component is found, please, contact with your distributor to get the
necessary spare part.

7.2. Recommendations for long stops

In the event of having the installation stopped for a long time, we recommend:
Perform a backwash and a rinse as indicated in points 5.1.2 and 5.1.3 (or 5.2.2 and 5.2.3).
Close the valves both at the suction side and at the impulsion side of the installation, to ensure the isolation of
all other equipment of the technical room, thus preventing from possible leakages that may remain undetected
at a first sight due to a lack of continuous inspection.
Empty the filter as indicated in points 6.1, 6.2 and 6.3.
It is advisable to also empty the remaining water in the pipeline of the installation to avoid dangers related to
stagnant water, as well as damages in the pipes in case of freezing.

7.3. Options and special applications

The filters can be delivered with valves that carry out automatically all the working processes. These automatic valves
may be electric or pneumatic.
As an option, it is possible to provide the high performance bobbin filters (bed depth 1.2m or 1.5m) additional features
such as nozzle plate, side manhole, sight glass and inner shell in Vinyl ester resin + PVC suitable for the more
chemically demanding applications (sea water, resistance to ozone). See Table 1.
Those filters referred within this manual are intended for use in commercial pool filtration. In the event of pretending
its use for other applications than those described in this manual, the client must ensure that the technical
characteristics of the filters are suitable according to the parameters of the application, as well as define a custom
maintenance plan according to the use and application, including periodic checks of the status of the inner shell of
the filter.
The standard filters must not work with ozone treatments nor exceed in any case the maximum working pressure
and temperature indicated in the technical datasheets, as well as in the label of the filters.
