8.2 GPS SEARCH MODE
For GPS searches, wait a few minutes until both the receiver and the collar have GPS positions
available. The R2 Finder will initially issue the tone signal corresponding to radio tracking. When
the R2 Finder receives the collar's GPS position, it will emit a different tone (bip bup) This tone
indicates that the collar has a GPS position and is communicating with the receiver. The message
"GPS OK" or "LAST GPS!" will be shown on the screen.
Once you have heard this tone, switch to the GPS screen by using the of RT/GPS side button.
a) Once in the GPS mode screen, a black compass with a radio link symbol inside will appear. It
will immediately begin to indicate the direction and distance where the collar can be found.
b) If the R2 Finder cannot capture the GPS position you will get the message: "NO GPS, MOVE
TO AN OPEN AREA". In that case, find an open area with a direct view of the sky to facilitate
signal reception.
c) If the compass is shown without the radio link communication symbol, the R2 Finder is not
receiving the current position. Not receiving an updated position does not mean that no com-
munication has been established between the receiver and the collar, the distance between
the collar and the receiver is too large, there are substantial obstacles or the collar may not
have a GPS position.
The bottom of the compass will display a timer that will indicate the time that has elapsed
since the last position was recorded, as maximum 60 minutes.
