5. QUICK GUIDE: FIRST STEPS

1- The Receiver screen is protected with a transparent film. Remove it for correct visualization
of the screen.
2- To switch the R2 Finder on, hold the "ON/OFF" button until the Tinyloc logo is shown on the
screen.
3- Stretch out the antenna (all four sections).
4- Go outdoors in order to calibrate the compass, remember you need a direct view of the sky.
5- To calibrate the compass, follow this path:
To access the menu press "OK", select:
To complete the calibration process, follow the instructions on the screen. Remember you will
have to turn 360º twice in 20 seconds – the calibration time. (See diagram on how to calibrate
the compass)
6- To save a Hound Finder collar, follow this path:
- Press "OK" to enter MENU when no collars have been saved in the R2 yet, then select:
COLLARS>OK>ADD>OK>AUTOMATIC (Warning! Do NOT press the "OK" key).
- To complete the process follow the instructions on the screen.
- Turn the Hound Tracer collar on by placing the magnet on the opposite side to the LEDs.
- While the LEDs on the collar flash alternately, place the collar above the R2 and press "OK".
- The R2 will save the collar.
- Name the collar to identify each dog: An onscreen alphabet will appear, select the letters that
make up the name by using the arrow keys. You must select the letters one by one and confirm
each one by pressing "OK".
- On the same screen, select "END" and press "OK". The R2 will automatically go to the search
screen in radio tracking mode
7- From this moment on, you can start the search/retrieval of the collar.
