8. SEARCH MODES

8.1 RADIO TRACKING SEARCH MODE
Steps to perform the search:
1- Access the menu by pressing "OK"
2- Select the "COLLARS" option with the Up and Down keys
3- Select the collar you want to search: COLLARS>SEARCH and press the "OK" key. The search
screen in radio tracking mode will be shown.
4- You must start from the maximum gain level (99). Take a 360º turn in order to receive the first
sound signals from the collar (beep beep).
Each pulse signal emitted by the collar is received acoustically from the speaker and visually
through the Transmitter bar.
A louder acoustic signal along with the higher numbers shown at the top of the bar graph
(transmitter) indicate the direction of the strongesrsignal and therefore the direction of the dog.
5- Once the turn has been completed you will be able to determine in which direction the dog is
as you will have received higher signal intensity from the R2 Finder. If you receive too much
signal intensity from all directions, decrease the gain and continue turning until you are able to
determine the direction.
As you approach the collar, you will have to repeat the operation.
6- The R2 Finder will indicate acoustically (bip bup) as it enters the GPS mode coverage area.
The radio tracking screen may show two types of notices:
a) GPS OK: It indicates that a GPS position has been received as well as the current distance
from the collar.
b) LAST GPS!: It indicates that a GPS position that is not up-to-date has been received, which
should be interpreted as an orientation since it reports on the last position of the collar and
when it was obtained.
When the Radio tracking mode screen displays one of these notices, you must switch to GPS
mode screen.
