5.2 Thermal overload protection

EDR 25, EDR 31, EDR 35, EDR 40
In the event of thermal overload, an
integrated motor overload protection switches
the fan off. After it has cooled off (up to 30
minutes) the unit automatically turns on.
EDR 45, EDR 50
Fan motor with thermal contacts (PTC
thermistors) connected to terminals. These
must be switched to a matching triggering
device, e.g., Maico motor protection switch
MVE 10 or the control circuit of a contactor.
The triggering device must not switch on
again automatically after being tripped.
EDR 56, EDR 63, EDR 71
Fan motor connected to thermal contact.
Engine monitoring with an optional frequency
converter.

6. Operation: Switching on/off

The fan is switched on or off with a switch
that is to be provided by the customer.
Ensure sufficient supply air during operation.
