Wiring of UPS with a light curtain
Connecting light curtain to the UPS
The receiver connector (3 pin WAGO connector) must be plugged into the receiver input (3 pin WAGO plug).
The emitter connector must be plugged into the emitter input (2 pin WAGO plug).
Follow the wiring diagram (Figure 9) to connect the door drive to the relay output. The whole unit will only work according
to the closed circuit principle if the relay is connected as shown in Figure 9.
CAUTION
Possible health risks
This device (as well as all other door protection systems on the market) cannot – by its nature – provide
absolute safeguarding for elevator passengers passing through the doorway. It must not be used as the
final fail-safe device of the door mechanism. This ultimate safety function has to be provided by a fail-safe
force and kinetic energy limiter.
5.1

Power-up and test for proper function

Ensure that all job site wiring and connections are correct and then apply power. After this, the relay is energized so that
the doors can close. However, when there is any obstacle in the protected area, the relay will remain de-energized until
the whole area is free and all beams are uninterrupted. The green LED in the UPS indicates that there is supply voltage
available. An orange LED indicates the status of the light curtain and the output relay.
The cegard/Mini-MOD receiver and emitter (Rx and Tx) edge have been correctly installed. In each edge there is one
optical indicator (LED) which indicates the light curtain's status.

* The cegard/Mini-MOD features a muting function. This allows the light curtain to continue to function when one element
is broken.
