this purpose the copier must be adjusted by placing
the machine on the straight part of the piece, in such
a way that the cutter-holder is situated at the point of
departure of the circular arc "E" (Fig. 6); loosen the nut
"W", move the copier forward until the bearing "X" is
resting on the edge of the circular zone; then tighten
down the nut "W" again.
Then shape the entire circular arc, keeping in constant
contact with the edge of bearing "X" (Fig. 6), until the
latter enters the straight zone and the cut is gradually lost.
• Shaping the rest of the circular arc (Fig. 5-C). To do
this the copier must be changed side, without changing
its position on the support "Q" (Fig. 4). Back off the nut
"S", rotate the copier through 90° until the lug "T2" is
fully seated in the slot "V2"; secure in this position with
the nut "S". The rest of the circular arc is then shaped
as shown in (Fig. 7), with the other bearing "Y" serving
this time as a copier on the edge.
UTILIZATION OF THE BASE WITH GUIDE EXTENSION

Disconnect the machine from the mains
power supply before fitting this accessory.
The machine can be used in inverted position using
base accessory 9800050, which permits the shaping of
listels, mouldings, crossbeams, etc. with greater ease
in the workshop.
Fitting the base: Fix the base onto a workbench using
holes "A" (Figs. 8 and 9), or in the centre of a solid ta-
ble measuring at least 1,000x600 mm, to ensure good
stability while working.
Attach the machine to the base using bolts "B" and
washers "O" (Fig. 9) supplied with this accessory. Fit the
cutter protector "G" (Figs. 8 and 9), securing it to the
head with knob "D" so as totally to cover the cutters.
Fitting the guide extension: To fit the guide extension,
insert the guide columns "F" (Figs. 8 and 10) into the side
holes of the guide runner "C", securing it with bolts "P".
Mains connection: The base is connected to the mains
by its own connection cable.
The shaper machine must always be connected to the
socket "I" (Fig. 8) of the base itself, as this has a safety
system to prevent accidental starting up.
The shaper is started and stopped by switch "K" (Fig. 8)
which is fitted into the base, so that the switch of the
shaper will have to be left permanently on with the
help of the trigger "J".
Under no circumstances must work be done
with the machine on the base without the
base being attached to the table.

• Never work with the base without fitting the cutter
protector.
• Never connect the machine to any socket other than
that of the base itself.

10. CHANGING THE BRUSHES

Disconnect the machine from the mains
before performing any maintenance
operations.
The brushes must be replaced when they reach the mi-
nimum length of 5 mm. For this purpose, remove plugs
"L" (Fig. 11) which hold brushes "M" and replace them
with new original VIRUTEX brushes, ensuring that they
slide smoothly through the guides.
We recommend running the unloaded machine for
several minutes after changing the brushes. Take the
opportunity to check the condition of the collector. If it
shows signs of burning or wear and tear, we recommend
bringing it to a VIRUTEX technical service centre for repair.
11. LUBRICATION AND CLEANING
The machine is delivered fully lubricated from the
factory and does not require any special care during
its working life. It is important to clean the machine
carefully after use, using a dry air jet. Maintain the
supply cable in perfect operating conditions. Ensure
that the machine's ventilation and cooling openings
remain clean and unobstructed.
12. NOISE AND VIBRATION LEVEL
The noise and vibration levels of this device have been
measured in accordance with European standard EN
60745-2-17 and EN 60745-1 and serve as a basis for com-
parison with other machines with similar applications.
The indicated vibration level has been determined for
the device's main applications and may be used as an
initial value for evaluating the risk presented by expo-
sure to vibrations. However, vibrations may reach levels
that are quite different from the declared value under
other application conditions, with other tools or with
insufficient maintenance of the electrical device or its
accessories, reaching a much higher value as a result
of the work cycle or the manner in which the electrical
device is used.
Therefore, it is necessary to establish safety measures
to protect the user from the effects of vibrations, such
as maintaining both the device and its tools in perfect
condition and organising the duration of work cycles
(such as operating times when the machine is subjected
to loads, and operating times when working with no-load,
in effect, not in use, as reducing the latter may have a
