Before Initial Use
• Remove the packaging.
• We recommend that you clean the appliance, as described
under „Cleaning".
Electrical connection
CAUTION:
• If you use extension leads, these should have a cable
cross-section of at least 1.5 mm².
• Route the extension cable so that it does not hang
over the edges of the surface on which the appliance is
placed. There is a risk that children may pull on them or
that somebody may trip over them.
• Make sure that the unit is switched off. The thermostatic
controller must be set to OFF.
• Make sure that the device voltage (see name plate) and the
line voltage match.
• The mains plug should only be inserted into a correctly
installed 230 V ~ 50 Hz socket with earthing contact.
Using the appliance
Use the buffet warmer
• To keep hot food warm in the supplied serving dishes or in
other heat resistant crockery.
• To warm up plates and keep them warm.
WARNING: Risk of burns!
During operation the heat is transfered to everything which is
on the warming plate.
• Use pot cloths if you remove hot containers, plates or the
frame.
CAUTION:
• Do not put the plastic lid on the hot surface of the warm-
ing plate. They could be deformed.
Assembly
If you use the supplied serving dishes, first put the frame onto
the warming plate.
Switching on/off
The unit is switched on with the thermostatic controller.
The unit is switched off when the thermostatic controller is set
to OFF.

Operation
1. To keep hot food warm we recommend preheating the
appliance at the maximum setting for about 10 minutes.
NOTE:
The indicator light indicates the heating up of the device.
It is switched on and off during operation. This is normal
and indicates that the temperature is controlled and
maintained by the thermostatic controller.
2. Fill the serving dishes with the hot food. Cover it with the
plastic lids if required.
3. Place the filled serving dishes onto the warming plate.
4. Regulate the temperature with the stepless thermostat
control.
NOTE:
• The food can be kept warm in the serving dishes over a
long period. We recommend that you do not exceed a
period of 6 hours. The food will begin to dry out if kept for
longer periods.
• If you use your own dishes, the recommended warming
time is shortened to 3 hours.
Switching Off
1. Set the thermostatic controller to OFF.
2. Remove the mains plug from the socket.
3. Let the unit cool down before storing it.
Cleaning
WARNING:
• Always pull out the plug from the mains socket before
cleaning and wait until the unit has cooled down.
• Under no circumstances should you immerse the device
in water for cleaning purposes. Otherwise this might result
in an electric shock or fire.
• Take particular care when cleaning the accessories.You
could injure yourself on the metal edges.
CAUTION:
• Do not use a wire brush or any abrasive items.
• Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.
Warming plate
• Clean the warming plate with a slightly damp cloth. If
required, you can use detergent. Dry with a soft cloth.
• Take care that no liquid enters into openings in the enclo-
sure. This could damage the unit or could lead to electric
shock.
Accessories
• Serving dishes, plastic lids and frame can be cleaned in hot
soapy water.
• Rinse these thoroughly with clean water and dry well.
