This checks whether the relevant output transistors can be switched off
and whether there is a break in the load. In addition, any otuputs that are
switched off are switched on for approx. 100 µs once every self-check.
The"+"-terminals and the "-" terminals are tested separately. If an error
occurs, the controller goes into STOP-condition, switches off all the
outputs and sends a message to the CPU display.

Installation

CAUTION!
Electrostatic discharge can damage the components on the module.
Ensure against discharge before touching the module, e.g. by touching an
earthed, conductive surface or by wearing an earthed armband.
• The module should be installed in the module rack as described in the
"Series PSS 3000/PSS 3100 Installation Guidelines".
• Connect the 24 V DC supply voltage (see Connection Diagram).
• Connect the inputs.
• Connect the outputs with a resistive or inductive load (see Connection
Diagram).
Please note:
• The output current is limited to a maximum of 10 A. To keep all the
outputs within this threshold even under full load, you must keep within a
constant current of 10 A over all outputs.
• When testing the outputs, the load is isloated from the supply for 100 ...
700 µs in each cycle (depending on the load and the line length). The
load must not switch off during this time
• Error messages can occur when testing outputs on which the contactors
are smaller than the load. The error messages are triggered by too high
an inductance on the contactors. In this case it helps to have a 1 kOnm
resistor connected in parallel to the contactor coil.
• Neighbouring inputs should not be assigned the same pulse.
• Copper wiring used must withstand a temperature of 75 °C.
• Torque setting of the screw terminals must be to 0.5 ... 0.6 Nm.
