4.0 Testing
4.1 Preparations and Safety Measures
Insert battery:
Insert battery, prior to commissioning. Proceed as fol-
lows:
1. Disconnect the instrument from measurement cir-
cuit.
2. Open the casing by pulling the rear casing cover to-
wards the bottom.
3. Insert new batteries, type 1.5 V IEC LR6 by respec-
ting the polarity and close the casing again.
4. Connect test leads in switch position
The beep must be clearly audible.
5. Connect test leads in switch position
The lamp must be cleary visible.
Only use continuity tester, if all display elements
function perfectly.
6. Now you may start testing.
Remark:
If lamp does not work or is missing, no conitnuity test
can be performed!
Ensure that UUT is voltage-free. Verify this conditi-
on, if required, by using.
• Only use the instruments in dry and clean environ-
ments.
• Prior to any usage, verify perfect instrument operati-
on.
• Verify perfect condition of test leads.
4.2 Continuity and Line Testing
Continuity testing has to be carried out when sy-
stem parts are voltage-free. If required, discharge
capacitors. Prior to testing, verify that the circuit is
voltage-free by using an appropriate measurement
instrument.
