TX-CAN – CAN-master Plug-in I/O module
Description
The communication module is an interface designed to connect the operator
panel connect to the CAN network. The connection to the CAN network is real-
ized via the dedicated DB9 male connector.

Mounting/unmounting
Remove the protective cover from the connector before installing the module
and mount the module according to fig. 3.
ATTENTION
Risk of short circuits
Destruction of electronic circuits!
Do not connect or disconnect when energized.
Approvals and standards
The products have been designed for use in Hazardous Location according
ANSI/ISA-12.12.01.
These products have been designed for use in combination with the HMIs of
the TX500 product family in an industrial environment in compliance with the
2014/30/EU directive.

ATTENTION
Operation in
residential and commercial areas
Electromagnetic disturbances!
In case of the operation of the devices in residential and commercial areas,
observe the measurement values according to IEC-61000- 6-3.
Safety notes for the operation in hazardous areas (only approved in
USA and Canada, no ATEX Certification!)
NOTE
The Power, input and output (I/O) wiring has to be done in accordance with
Class I, Division 2 and in accordance with the authority having jurisdictions. For
U.S. in accordance with Article 501.10 (B) of the National Electrical Code, NFPA
70 and for Canada in accordance with Section 18-1J2 of Canadian Electrical
Code.

Loss of Class 1, Division 2 approval in case of substitution of components

Do not use components which do not comply with the Class 1, Division 2
certification.

Replacing or wiring modules under voltage

Switch-off the device before replacing or wiring modules.

Do not disconnect devices under voltage, as long as they are installed in
ignitable atmospheres.
NOTE
The devices are suitable for the use in Class 1, Division 2, groups A, B, C and D
(hazardous locations and non-hazardous locations).
