Collar tracheo
Intended purpose
protect.Collar tracheo is a cervical collar.
The product is exclusively to be used for
the orthotic fitting of the thoracic spine
and only on unbroken skin.
Indications
• Simple and stable fractures
• Post-operative after luxations /
luxation fractures
• Degenerative disorders
• Immobilisation after trauma/surgery
• Spinal Stenosis
• Spondylolisthesis
Contraindications
None known at present.
Application
1. Place the posterior half of the orthosis
marked "back" around the neck.
2. Then apply the anterior half of the
orthosis, marked "front" in ventral
position to the neck so that it overlaps
with the posterior half and the chin
comes to rest in the provided recess.
3. Close the velcro straps.
Two measurements are required for
the collar, as follows:
Height:
Measure the vertical distance from the
patient's chin to sternum (Figure A).The
measurement corresponds to the
HEIGHT of the collar. If the patient's
measurement falls between two
consecutive sizes, apply the smaller size
first.
Circumference:
Measure around the patient's neck
(Figure B).
The measurement corresponds to the
size CIRCUMFERENCE of the collar.
Care instructions
Velcro fasteners should be closed for
washing. Soap residues, lotions and
ointments can cause skin irritation and
material wear. The product can be worn
in both fresh and salt water. After
wearing in water, rinse the product
thoroughly with clean fresh water.
• Wash the product by hand, preferably
using medi clean washing agent.
• Do not bleach.
• Leave to dry naturally.
• Do not iron.
• Do not dry clean.
Storage instructions
Keep the product in a cool, dry place and
do not expose to direct sunlight.
