applicable regulations (Low Voltage Directives 2006/95/CE,
Electro-magnetic compatibility 2004/108/CE, Environment).
This appliance is intended for domestic and household use only.
1 • Conditions of use
Your vacuum cleaner is an electrical appliance: it must only be
used under normal operating conditions. Use and store the
appliance out of the reach of children. Never leave the
appliance unattended when it is switched on.
Keep the nozzles and tube ends well away from eyes and
ears.
Do not vacuum damp surfaces, where there is water or
liquids whatever their nature, hot substances, ultrafine
substances (plaster, cement, ashes...), large sharp debris
(glass), harmful products (solvents, paint strippers...),
chemical products (acids, cleaning agents...), inflammable
and explosive products (petrol or alcohol based).
Never immerse the appliance in water, splash water onto it or
store it outdoors..
Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped and shows
visible signs of damage or signs of not functioning properly.
In this case, do not open the appliance but send it to your
nearest Approved Service Centre or contact Rowenta
Customer Services (you can find their contact details on the

* Depending on models: either equipment specific to cer-
tain models or available as an optional accessory.
When vacuuming on stairs, the appliance must always be at
a level lower than that of the person using it and in the vertical
position if the steps are too narrow.
When cleaning net curtains or fragile surfaces, ensure that the
electronic or mechanical power control is set to minimum.
2 • Electrical power supply
Make sure that the operating voltage (voltage) of your
vacuum cleaner is the same as your supply voltage.
Turn off and unplug the appliance by removing the power
plug: without pulling on the power cord:
- immediately after use,
- before each time you change the accessories,
- before cleaning, maintaining or changing the filter.
Do not use the appliance if the power cord is damaged.
The power cord winder and the power cord of your vacuum
cleaner must be replaced by an Approved Rowenta Service
Centre because every type of repair requires special tools to
avoid any danger.
Important: the AC outlet must be protected by a fuse of at least
16a. If the circuit breaker trips when the appliance is switched
on, this may be due to the fact that other appliances with high
cumulative power requirements are connected to the same
electrical circuit. You can avoid tripping the circuit breaker by
setting the appliance on low power before switching on and
then increasing the power later.
3 • Repairs
Repairs should only be carried out by specialists using
original replacement parts.
Attempting to repair the appliance at home may be
dangerous and will invalidate the guarantee.
