Fitting the Bicycle Carrier on the Tow Hitch / Attaching Bicycles
WARNING!
Injury to people or damage to property due
to unsecured bicycle carrier.
If the lever is not locked to secure it, the bicycle
carrier could become detached from the vehicle
during the journey.
Lock the bicycle carrier.

Check that you have locked the lever and

removed the key.
Locking also prevents potential theft of the bicycle
carrier.
WARNING!
Injury to people or damage to property due to
loss of the bicycle carrier during the journey.
A loose connection between the carrier and the
tow hitch can cause the bicycle carrier to become
detached.
Check that the bicycle carrier is fi xed securely.

Repeat steps 3 to 6 of this chapter if the
4
connection is loose. If this brings about no
improvement, the quickfastener may need to
be adjusted, see the chapter "Maintenance".
WARNING!
Injury to people due to not being seen by
other road users.
Driving without a working lighting system can
cause accidents.
Before beginning each journey, check that the
4
lighting system is working correctly.
Replace any defective bulbs.

Check the connection between the plug and
4
the coupling.

Attaching Bicycles

ATTENTION!
Injury to people or damage to property is
possible due to parts fl ying around.
Parts on the bicycles that are not screwed on
securely can become detached during the journey.
Remove all parts that are not securely
4
connected to the bicycle, e.g. air pumps, panniers,
navigation devices or batteries.
Also remove all parts that generate additional
4
resistance, e.g. such as luggage baskets and
child seats.
NOTE
To improve the handling of your vehicle, it is best to
fi t the heaviest bicycle fi rst.
Also, if you are fi tting only one bicycle, you should
place the bicycle in the rail that is closest to the rear
of the vehicle.
