2. General hazard warnings
The STORCH Jumbo vacuum cleaner is not designed for
suction of materials that are easily flammable, combusti-
ble, poisonous, hazardous to health, or corrosive.
Never run over, crush, or strain the power leads. Check
the power leads on the immersion pump and suction unit
regularly for potential signs of damage. The device must
no longer be used if the power lead is damaged, and the
lead must be replaced with an equivalent design from the
manufacturer.
The extension cables must be protected from splashing
water and must not be laid in wet or damp areas.
When cleaning and maintaining the device, switch the
mains switch to the "0" position and unplug the mains
plug. The device must only be operated by persons who
are have been instructed about the hazards and have been
explicitly tasked with using the machine. Please note the
safety and accident prevention rules that apply on site
when using the device.
Never point the cleaning attachment at persons; note that
the residual pressure after switching off the high-pressure
cleaner could be sufficient to cause injury. There is a risk
of injury from pressurised water. Only clean or remove
the dirt blaster inside the cleaning attachment when you
have detached the high-pressure hose from the cleaning
attachment.
Important:
Use only biodegradable strippers that comply with water
hazard class I, if you intend to discharge the waste water
into a waste water channel. In all other cases, you must
collect the waste water in tanks and dispose of the waste
water in line with the local water authority's regulations.
3. General tips
Prevent the suction hose from sagging. The maximum
length of the Jumbo vacuum cleaner's suction hose must
not exceed 20 m when in horizontal position. Suction per-
formance is reduced by water build-up in the hose, and
the suction unit is strained.
Flush out the collection container and the immersion
pump with clean mains water after ending their operation
in order to remove possible deposits of dirt in the conta-
iner and in the pump.
The filter in the Jumbo vacuum cleaner's collection conta-
iner retains all solids above 0.4 mm in size. This mesh
filter (1) is attached to a support cage (2) and fixed in pla-
ce with a rubber band (3). It can thus be easily removed
for cleaning and emptying and quickly reattached. Care-
fully clean the filter after each use.
The STORCH Jumbo vacuum cleaner is fitted with a
high-performance immersion pump. The immersion pump
located at the base of the container is connected with the
externally attached lead to the safety socket in the sucti-
on head of the Jumbo vacuum cleaner.
Connect the outlet hose, contained within the scope of
delivery (10 m), with the Geka coupling attached to the
outside of the container, and fit it at the designated inser-
tion point. The pump switches itself on and off indepen-
dently with the float integrated in the pump. This guaran-
tees that the absorbed and filtered waste water can be
pumped out continuously without filling up the collecti-
on container. Connect the 10 m suction hose (included in
delivery) to the suction port that is attached at the side in
the blue cover adapter, using the special coupling. Con-
nect the coupling at the other end of the suction hose
with the water intake nozzle's intake pipe (Jumbo vacuum
cleaner's scope of delivery) or with the suction port of the
STORCH cleaning attachment (accessory). After the task
has been completed, empty the collection container and
the filter: allow the water to be pumped out and turn over
the container so that the remaining water flows out; wash
out the filter with running water. Leave the container
open when storing to avoid mould stains and mildew.
If there is residual water left in the container, the pump
can be activated manually with a sliding switch. Remo-
ve the cover adapter and filter support cage to reach this.
You will find the switch at the top on the side on the
black float cover. Push the switch upwards to turn it on.
If the pumping function of the immersion pump is diminis-
hed by air intake, push the sliding switch back downwards
to its normal position. The pump will then be ready again
for float operation to resume.
