MATERIALS
A 1 Cross Bar
C 1 Centre Strut with European facing to 94/20/EC A50-1
D 6 M12 x 40 Bolts, Lock Washers and 12 Flat Washers (25mm O.D.)
F 1 M8 x 25 Bolt, Nyloc Nut and Flat Washer
G 1 Pop Rivet
G1 1 Heat Shield Mounting Plate
J 1 Electrical Plate (ZEP5)
FOR VL35 ONLY:
K 2 M12 x 80 Bolts, Nyloc Nuts and Ø25 bushes
L 1 Welded neck assembly
FITTING
1. Remove towing eye bracket on right hand side. Remove exhaust hanger (2 bolts and 1 pop rivet on heat shield).
NOTE: Retain both parts complete with bolts for use if towbar is removed.
2. Cut bumper, depending on vehicle model, as shown below, noting it may be necessary to make an additional
circular cut out as shown below to allow easier insertion of the crosstube.
3. Pull down lower edge of bumper and slide crossbar inside.
4. Loosely attach Cross Bar (A) to captive nuts in chassis using Bolts (D) doubled up as indicated below, with Heat
Shield Mounting Plate (G1) at the foremost Bolt (D) on left hand side. Attach Mounting Plate (G1) to heat shield
using Rivet (G). Remount exhaust on hanger provided on Cross bar (A). Tighten bolts.
5. Attach neck to Cross Bar (A)
6. Attach Electrical Plate (J) to Cross Bar (A) in the required position using bolts and nuts (F).
7.
For VL35 only, using Bolts (K), fix Neck (L) to Crossbar (A) using supplied bushes.
8.
Fully tighten all bolts.
Note: This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z11) or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball dimensionally
Conforming to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
Please refer to the vehicle specification for the trailer weight and nose limits, which must be observed.
Recommended torque settings: M8 - 27Nm, M12 - 95 Nm, M16 - 214 Nm
