MATERIALS
A 1 Cross Bar with European facing to 94/20/EC A50-1
D 6 M12 x 40 x 1.75mm Bolts, Lock Washers and Flat Washers (25mm O.D.)
D1 2 Spreader Plates with captive nuts
G 1 Pop Rivet
G1 1 Heat Shield Mounting Plate
H 10 Pop Rivets
CB 2 M16 x 50 x 2.0mm Coupling Bolts, Nuts and Lock Washers
Z 1 ZEP35 Electrical plate (not shown)
FITTING
1. Remove side panels from inside boot, lift floor and remove rear plastic trim. Remove bumper (4 recessed nuts,
2 in centre and 1 each end. Jack up rear of vehicle, secure on axle stands, and remove both rear wheels. Drill
out rivets at bumper tips, 5 each side).
2. Remove towing eye bracket on right hand side. Remove exhaust hanger (2 bolts and 1 pop rivet on heat
shield). NOTE: Retain both parts complete with bolts for use if towbar is removed.
3. If rearmost captive nuts in chassis are not present insert Spreader Plates (D1) into ends of chassis. Loosely
attach Cross Bar (A) to captive nuts in chassis using Bolts (D), with Heat Shield Mounting Plate (G1) at the
foremost Bolt (D) on left hand side. Attach Mounting Plate (G1) to heat shield using Rivet (G). Remount
exhaust on hanger mounted to Cross bar (A). Tighten all bolts.
4. Cut bumper as shown below. Re-fit bumper using Rivets (H) at bumper tips.
5. Re-fit rear wheels and torque to correct figure. Replace all trim.
Note: This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z1) or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball dimensionally
Conforming to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
Please refer to the vehicle specification for the trailer weight and nose limits, which must be observed.
Recommended torque settings: M8 - 27Nm, M10 - 53 Nm, M12 - 95 Nm , M14 - 150 Nm, M16 - 214 Nm
