Due to the fact that the measuring input is very sensitive, it is possible that some
measuring values („phantom measuring values") will be indicated if the measuring wires
are free (not connected to an object to be measured). This 'phenomenon' is normal and
disappears as soon as you perform your measurement.
Current measurement
do not measure currents in electrical circuits where voltages of > 250 V can
•
occur. Never measure currents higher than 10 A. Only measure in electrical
circuits which are themselves protected with 10 A.
•
Measurements within the 10 A range may not last longer than 30 s and may
only be performed at intervals of 15 minutes (cooling-down phase for the shunt
(measuring resistor)).
direct current measurement
1.
Connect the black measuring line with the COM socket and the red measuring line with the μA/mA
socket, if you intend to measure currents up to a maximum of 400 mA, or with the 10 A socket, if
you intend to measure currents from > 400 mA up to max. 10 A.
2.
Turn the range selection switch to „μA", if you intend to conduct measurements up to 4000 μA.
3.
Turn the range selection switch to „mA", if you intend to conduct measurements up to 400 mA.
4.
Turn the range selection switch to „10A", if you intend to conduct measurements up to 10 A.
5.
Press the „MODE" button until „DC" appears on the display.
6.
Now connect the two test prods in series with the object to be measured (generator, circuit etc.);
the current measuring value will be indicated on the display.
The 400 mA range is protected with a 500 mA safety fuse, the 10 A range is protected
with a 10 A safety fuse.
Alternating current measurement
5.
Press the „MODE" button until „AC" appears on the display.
6.
Now connect the two test prods with the object to be measured to show the current measurement
reading on the display.
7.
Press the „MODE" button to display the frequency measured in hertz.
8.
Press the „MODE" button again to display the operating cycle in %.
9.
Press and hold the „MODE" button to revert to the current display.
