Microscopes MA 111 / 112 / 112-2 / 117 / 117 SZ / 118-20 ( ~ E )
The microscope is a precision instrument and must be treated very carefully.
A) Unpack carefully microscope and accessories. If necessary wipe optic with a lint free clean cloth.
B) Mounting:
– Put the microscope in its stand.
– Turn the diopter ring (1), till the graticule is net for your eye.
– Adjust the sharpness of the image by a reference piece or a centering point (move the microscope, the
reference piece, or the centering point up or down).
C) Eventual centering of the microscope:
The microscope has been carefully centered and checked before dispatch. It is recommended however to re-check
its centering before use as vibration during transport may have caused a misalignement of optical elements.
If a recentering is necessary, you have 2 possibilities:
1. If the microscope and the holder are fixed, see recentering of the microscope
2. If the microscope is in a turnable holder, see recentering on 180°
Recentering of the microscope
The eventual centering fault, i. e. distance between the crosswire (3) and the controlpiece (4) (reference piece or
centering point), can be corrected with the crosswire (3) and in moving the 2 screws (5), horizontal or vertical.
(Attention: The 2 screws (5), horizontal or vertical, has to be moved together, i. e., loosen one of the screws
and on the same time tighten the screw opposite).
