MATERIALS:
A 1 Crossbar.
C 1 R/H Sidearm.
D 1 L/H Sidearm.
E 1 R/H Spreader Plate
F 1 L/H Spreader Plate.
G 2 M12 x 35 x 1.75 Bolts, Lock washers, Cage nut assemblies and 25 O/D Washers.
H 2 M12 x 35 x 1.75 Bolts, Nyloc nuts and 4 off 25 O/D Washers.
J 2 M10 x 30 x 1.5 Bolts, Lock washers, Cage nut assemblies and 30 O/D Washer.
K 2 M10 x 30 x 1.5 Bolts, Nyloc nuts and 30 O/D Washers.
L 4 M12 x 40 x 1.75 Bolts, Nyloc Nuts and 25 O/D Washers.
FITTING:
1. Open the rear lid and remove 2 rear light unit fixing screws (torx) from both sides. Remove interior trim flaps from
within the luggage compartment to reveal a plastic nut with hand wheel. Remove these plastic nuts and pull off
light units from the vehicle, releasing wiring connected.
2. Remove 2 bumper fixing screws (torx) on right and left side at edge of rear lid. Remove registration plate to expose
2 fixing screws (torx). Remove these.
3. On the left side, behind the bumper, release the wiring connector and disconnect wiring from the bumper beam.
4. Remove the screws (torx) from along the lower edge of the bumper and 3 screws (torx) from within each
wheelarch.
5. Carefully ease the plastic wheel arch trim away from the vehicle body
6. Starting from the bumper tips, very carefully pull off the bumper sides from their fixings, fixings are easily
damaged. Take care not to damage the clips securing the bumper at its centre, close to where the boot lid
closes. Release the bumper from the vehicle.
7. Remove bumper beam from the rear panel (4 & 5 screws and 1 nut).
8. Remove the most central plastic bumper support bracket (1 torx screw). This bracket is not used again.
9. Assemble cage nuts (M10 x 1.5 and M12 x 1.75) to spreader plates (E & F).
10. Increase the opening of the right hand side chassis rail (e.g. using a rotating file), enabling plate (E) to slide inside.
Treat the cut surface with anti-corrosive paint.
11. Insert plate (F) into the left hand side chassis rail.
12. Very loosely attach parts (E & F) to the chassis of the side rails with fixing parts (J & K).
13. Loosely attach Sidearms (C & D) to bottom face of each chassis using fixing (G & H).
14. Loosely attach Crossbeam (A) between side brackets (C & D) with fixing parts (L).
15. Tighten all fixings carefully to their correct torque setting.
16. Re-install the bumper beam, bumper and rear lights, remembering to re-attach any wiring previously dis-
connected.
17. Install the selected towball (ZN) and socket plate (ZE) to Crossbar (A). Tighten fixings to correct torque setting.
Recommended torque settings: Grade 8.8 bolts: M8 - 24Nm, M10 - 52 Nm, M12 - 80 Nm, M14 - 130 Nm, M16 -
200 Nm Grade 10.9: M12 – 120Nm, M10 – 70Nm M8- 35Nm
