2.2. Storage

Inverters connected to a system of batteries are responsible for providing a greater range of possibilities for more
efficient management of the installation. These units, called Inverters/chargers, obey the charging/discharging
setpoints provided by the INGECON EMS Manager.
The development of the state of the batteries will depend on the energy generated by renewable sources, on the
consumption demand of the installation and on the pre-configured strategy of the device.
In the event of a loss of connection to the grid, systems with storage will be able to draw on their supply for
consumption using the storage available, allowing the system to operate in an isolated manner.
For information about inverters/chargers, see the manual that corresponds to the equipment installed.
An example of energy management shows below in an installation with PV generation and storage.
Consumption of the installation
The strategy implemented in the INGECON EMS Manager of the previous example configures the PV production
setpoints in order to supply both instantaneous consumption and charge the batteries. When they are charged,
generation is in line with consumption. During night-time hours, storage allows you to cover the installation's
demand, avoiding consumption from the grid.

2.3. Load control

In installations where the daily profile of demand for electricity does not cover that of the PV generation, the
INGECON EMS Manager enables an increase in the self-consumption ratio by controlling some of the installation's
loads. This control is carried out using the digital outputs of the device. In other words, two potential free contacts
are fitted that will activate the loads connected to the system considering the generation available and the user's
requirements.
