COOLANT FILLING
Connect the "filling station", create a vacuum in the circuit and pre-fill
with coolant, then look for any leaks.
If there are no leaks, reconnect the battery, start the engine and
completely fill with coolant.
The quantity and type of coolant to be introduced into the circuit
are those of the vehicle's O.E. system, indicated on the identification
plate with the addition of 50 g more than the nominal quantity.
Disconnect the "filling station".

MAINTENANCE AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE
The maintenance of the supplied system runs alongside that of the
O.E. system. Here is some general information along with some more
specific details, but reference should be made to the indications in the
vehicle maintenance book.
It is advisable after the first 1500 Km following installation of the
air-conditioner, to carry out a general check, making sure that the bolts
that fasten the compressor group in place with the relative brackets are
tightened.
A couple of times a year, check the tension of the O.E. compressor belt:
if it is worn, replace it with another of the same type.
Any repairs or operations to fill and recover the coolant, must
be carried out in authorised workshops and by qualified personnel.
The smooth operation of the conditioning system depends on regular
maintenance.
During the operation of the conditioning system, it is advisable to keep
the doors and windows of the vehicle closed.
When cleaning the system, protect the electrical components.
Avoid leaving the conditioning system idle for too long, activating
it at least once a month for half an hour even during the winter, as
its operation guarantees the lubrication of some components which
would tend to dry out if left inactive for a long time.
Regularly check the O.E. condenser battery and the supplied electro-
ventilated condenser and, if necessary, clean it using compressed air,
taking care not to damage the aluminium fins.
Insects can deposit on the fins, along with fluff and other bodies that
will reduce the efficiency of the heat exchangers.
When working near the heat exchangers, take care not to cut
yourself on the sharp ends of the fins.
At the same time, it is advisable to check the operation of the electric
fans on the condenser.
When activating the AC function, the electric fans of the condenser are
activated. Their speed is variable depending on the pressure inside the
circuit.
Remember that the cleaning of the condenser and the check that
the fans are working properly are extremely important operations.
A very dirty or incorrectly ventilated condenser not only reduces the
performance of the conditioning system, but can also shorten the life of
the compressor or even cause it - or its electromagnetic joint - to break.
The supplied system uses the coolant of the vehicles O.E. circuit.
It is advisable to check at the start of every season that there is
sufficient coolant in the system. A lack of coolant usually causes a drop
in performance. The check can be carried out by connecting a "filling
station" and checking the pressure. If there is a severe lack of coolant,
before refilling it is necessary to locate the point where the leak has
occurred and repair it. In this case, it is also advisable to check the level
of lubricant in the compressor and top it up if necessary.
At the start of every season, inspect every component of the system,
including the electrical components, to make sure that there are no
anomalies.
