den entsprechenden Regler INPUT weiter auf-
drehen.
4) Danach während einer Durchsage auch die Laut-
stärke der übrigen Zonen mit den Abschwächern
(5) einstellen.
5) Die Lautstärke weiterer Mikrofone und Signal-
quellen mit den zugehörigen Reglern (7) einstel-
len. Die Regler der nicht benutzten Kanäle immer
in die Position Null drehen.
6) Zur Auswahl eines an den Buchsen AUX INPUTS
(18) angeschlossenen Gerätes den Umschalter
„5 6 7" (3) betätigen. Dazu den Regler AUX erst
auf Null drehen, damit keine Schaltgeräusche
auftreten.
7) Den Klang mit den beiden Reglern „Bass" und
„Treble" (4) einstellen.
8) Sollen bestimmte Zonen zeitweise nicht beschallt
werden, die zugehörigen Abschwächer (5) in die
Position „off" drehen.
6.2 Automatische Lautstärkeabsenkung
Ein Signal im Kanal 1 hat Priorität vor allen anderen
Signalen, d. h. die anderen Signale werden in der
Lautstärke automatisch abgesenkt, wenn in das
Mikrofon des Kanals 1 gesprochen wird. Die Signale
der Kanäle 2 – 4 haben Priorität vor dem Signal des
AUX-Kanal. d. h. das Signal des AUX-Kanals wird
automatisch abgesenkt, sobald ein Signal auf einen
der anderen Kanäle gegeben wird. Beim Einschal-
ten der Sirene oder Auslösen des Gongs werden die
Eingangssignale ebenfalls abgesenkt.
Die Stärke der Lautstärkeabsenkung lässt sich
mit dem Regler „Mute Level" (30) von -25 dB bis
-35 dB einstellen.

channels to zero.
6) For selecting a unit connected to the jacks AUX
INPUTS (18), actuate the selector switch "5 6 7"
(3). For this purpose, first set the control AUX to
zero to prevent switching noise.
7) Adjust the sound with the two controls "Bass" and
"Treble" (4).
8) For temporary sound interruption in certain
zones, set the corresponding attenuators (5) to
"off".
6.2 Automatic volume attenuation
A signal in channel 1 will take priority over all other
signals, i. e. the volume of the other signals will be
automatically attenuated if you speak into the micro-
phone of channel 1. The signals of channels 2 – 4
will take priority over the signal of the AUX channel,
i. e. the signal of the AUX channel will be automati-
cally attenuated as soon as a signal has been fed to
one of the other channels. The input signals will also
be attenuated if the siren or the chime is activated.
The volume attenuation level can be adjusted
from -25 dB to -35 dB with the control "Mute Level"
(30).

6.3 Gong
Der Gong kann z. B. vor einer Durchsage mit der
Taste CHIME (1), mit einem an den Klemmen
„Remote Chime" (29) angeschlossen Taster und mit
der Sprechtaste eines ELA-PTT-Mikrofons aktiviert
werden. Die Gonglautstärke mithilfe eines Schrau-
bendrehers am Regler „Chime Level" (32) einstellen.
Soll keine Auslösung des Gongs von den PPT-
Mikrofonen erfolgen, die an den Eingänge 2 – 4 (33)
angeschlossen sind, die Brücke an den Schraub-
klemmen „INPUTS Chime On/Off" (29) entfernen.
6.4 Alarmsirene
Die Sirene kann über einen an den Klemmen
„Remote Siren" (29) angeschlossenen Schalter akti-
viert werden. Die Lautstärke mithilfe eines Schrau-
bendrehers am Regler „Siren Level" (31) einstellen.
6.5 Schalter GROUND / LIFT
Ist bei der Installation aller Geräte eine Masse-
schleife entstanden (z. B. vom Gehäuse des Ver-
stärkers über ein Rack zu einem anderen Geräte-
gehäuse), tritt ein Brummen auf (besonders hörbar
bei leisen Musikpassagen). Diese Masseschleife
lässt sich mit dem Schalter GROUND / LIFT (28) auf
der Geräterückseite unterbrechen. Dazu den Schal-
ter in die Position LIFT stellen. Das Brummen sollte
aufhören.
Andererseits ist der Verstärker nicht gegen elek-
trische Störfelder abgeschirmt, wenn das Gehäuse
nicht an Masse liegt. In diesem Fall den Schalter in
die Position GROUND stellen. Im Zweifelsfall den
Schalter wechselweise schalten, um die optimale
Einstellung zu finden.
6.3 Chime
The chime can e. g. be activated prior to an an-
nouncement with the key CHIME (1), with a momen-
tary pushbutton switch connected to the terminals
"Remote Chime" (29), and with the talk button of a
PA PTT microphone. Adjust the chime volume by
means of a screwdriver at the control "Chime Level"
(32).
To prevent activation of the chime from the PTT
microphones connected to the inputs 2 – 4 (33),
remove the jumper at the screw terminals "INPUTS
Chime On/Off" (29).
6.4 Alarm siren
The siren can be activated via a switch connected to
the terminals "Remote Siren" (29). Adjust the
volume by means of a screwdriver at the control
"Siren Level" (31).
6.5 GROUND/LIFT switch
If a ground loop has been created during installation
of all units (e. g. from the housing of the amplifier via
a rack to another housing of a unit), humming will
occur (audible in particular during music passages
of low volume). This ground loop can be interrupted
with the GROUND/LIFT switch (28) on the rear
panel of the unit. For this purpose, set the switch to
LIFT. Humming should stop after that.
On the other hand, the amplifier is not shielded
from electric noise fields if the housing is not ground-
ed. In this case, set the switch to GROUND. In case
of doubt, set the switch alternately to find the opti-
mum position.
7 Schutzschaltung
Der Verstärker ist mit einer Schutzschaltung gegen
Überlastung, Überhitzung und Kurzschluss an den
Lautsprecherausgängen ausgestattet. Die Endstufe
wird mit einem Lüfter gekühlt, dessen Drehzahl von
der Endstufentemperatur abhängt. Sollte trotzdem
die Temperatur zu hoch ansteigen, wird der Verstär-
ker stummgeschaltet und die rote LED „prot" (12)
leuchtet. In diesem Fall den Regler MASTER (8)
ganz auf Null drehen, warten bis die LED „prot"
erlischt und dann den Verstärker ausschalten. Die
Fehlerursache beheben, zum Beispiel:
1. Bei einer Überlastung weniger Lautsprecher an-
schließen oder wenn möglich, an den Lautspre-
chern eine geringer Leistungsaufnahme einstel-
len. Eventuell einen zweiten Verstärker einsetzen
(siehe Kapitel 5.5).
2. Bei einer Überhitzung für eine bessere Luftzirku-
lation sorgen.
3. Bei einem Kurzschluss an einem Lautsprecher-
ausgang die Kurzschlussstelle lokalisieren und
beseitigen.
7 Protective Circuit
The amplifier is provided with a protective circuit
against overload, overheating, and short circuit at
the speaker outputs. The power amplifier is venti-
lated by a fan, the speed of which depends on the
temperature of the power amplifier. If the tempera-
ture rise is too high despite the ventilation, the ampli-
fier will be muted and the red LED "prot" (12) will
light up. In this case, turn the MASTER control (8) to
zero, wait until the LED "prot" is extinguished, then
switch off the amplifier. Eliminate the fault, e. g.:
1. In case of overload, reduce the number of speak-
ers connected or, if possible, adjust a lower
power consumption on the speakers. Use a sec-
ond amplifier, if required (see chapter 5.5).
2. In case of overheating, provide an improved air
circulation.
3. In case of a short circuit at a speaker output,
locate the short circuit and eliminate it.
