Place the steel bands around the bearing
outer ring. This can be done if the
bearing is in the horizontal plane, or in
the vertical plane supported by a shaft.
The steel bands must be placed in the
centre of the bearing outer ring.
Use both handles to tighten the steel
bands evenly. Check that the steel bands
grip the bearing firmly. Use a torque
wrench to check the final tightening
torque is between 14 and 20 Nm. (10.3 -
14.8 lbf ft). 14 Nm can easily be
achieved by applying 5 kg force to the
end of a 30 cm long spanner.
