FITTING:
1. Remove light clusters: Renegade: Remove the panels within the luggage compartment to enable the removal of a screw
securing each cluster / 500X: Open the luggage compartment and remove two fixings. Carefully pull light clusters rearwards
disconnecting wiring.
2. Remove the bumper: (On Renegade only: remove screw behind light cluster). Remove 2 torx screws both sides in the
opening to the boot (lower ones are covered with tape). Remove screws around each wheel arch and screws along the
lower edge of bumper. Carefully peel off trim along wheel arch to expose fixing screw at the tip of the bumper. Carefully pull
bumper tips outwards to release from the clips attaching it to the vehicle. Unplug any connected wiring to free the bumper.
3. Remove the crash beam: On Renegade only: drill off two lowest blind rivets from plastic part on top of crash beam.
Remove 6 nuts securing the beam, retain these for towbar installation. Return the beam to the customer.
4. Locate chassis rail mounting points removing any grommets covering them. Slide Sidearms (B) and (C) inside the chassis
and over the studs on the back panel. Loosely attach to the chassis using fixings (D) and to the rear panel using fixings (E).
5. Loosely attach the Crossbar (A) to Sidearms (B) and (C) using fixings (F).
6. Fully tighten all fixings to their correct torque setting.
7. Seal seams between Sidearms (B & C) and rear panel with mastic compound to prevent ingress of water into chassis
8. Attach chosen neck (ZN) and Electrical Bracket (ZE) using separate instructions.
9. Cut the bumper using the correct sketch (below) as a guide. An additional cut (120mm wide, left of neck) will be required if
the retractable electric plate (ZE) is to be used. The Renegade may need cutting to bumpers edge (X) for some neck types.
10. Take care not to damage the bumper during re-assembly.
Note: This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z11) or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball dimensionally
Conforming to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
Please refer to the vehicle specification for the trailer weight and nose limits, which must be observed.
Recommended torque settings: Grade 8.8: M8 - 27Nm, M12 - 95 Nm, M14 - 150 Nm, M16 - 214 Nm
