Witter FT73U-FIT Instructions De Montage

MATERIALS
A 1 Mainframe
B 2 Side Arms
C 6 M10 x 35 x 1.25 *Fine Pitch Bolts*, Flat Washers (25mm) and Lock Washers.
D 2 M10 x 35 x 1.5 bolt, Flat Washers (25mm), Lock washers and M10 witter Cage nuts.
E 2 M10 x 35 x 1.5 bolt, Flat Washers (25mm), and Nyloc Nuts.
F 2 M10 x 35 x 1.5 bolts, Flat Washers (40mm O.D.), Lock Washers and M10 Witter cage nuts.
G 1 ZEP 2 Electrical plate
For use with either
FT73 Flange neck option – ZF3025. Note: This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z11) or Class
A50-1 or A50-X towball, which dimensionally conforms to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
FT73Q Detachable neck option – ZQ3025. Please refer to ZQ fitting instructions for installation.
FT73QF Detachable neck option – ZQF3025. Please refer to ZQ fitting instructions for installation.
FITTING
To remove rear bumper, open rear doors, unscrew 4 top torx Screws and 3 underside. Remove 3 arch screws each

side and pull out inner arch. This will expose 1 tip screw.
To complete removal take out rear lights, 3 screws each side, pull rearwards and disconnect plug. This will expose 1

screw at the top of the bumper each side. Remove bumper and remove crash beam 6 bolts in rear panel Remove
centre bumper support via one bolt
Insert cage nuts into side arms (B) as per separate fitting instruction. Remove round chassis plugs on the underside of

the chassis.
Insert side arm through the chassis opening until the cage nut aligns with chassis hole. Thread bolt (F) with 40mm

washer from the underside of chassis but leave loose for adjustment. Carry same process for both side arms.
Insert cage nuts into ends of part (A) and locate cross bar to rear end panel ensuring side arms (B) come through the

allocated slot. If necessary tilt bar forward to align. Use fixings (C) ensuring the fine pitch bolts are used. Tighten
accordingly.
Loosely attach fixings (D& E) on both ends of the side arms to the cross bar. Tighten up forward mounting position (F)

to full torque and remaining fixings.
To prevent water ingress seal around the side arm where it passes through the ends of main cross bar with good

quality Silicone sealant
Refit bumper and attach preferred neck to centre profiles. If necessary cut centre tabs away. Fit electrical bracket
8.
(G)and fully tighten to recommended torque.
Recommended
torque settings:
Grade 8.8 bolts: M10 -
52 Nm, M16 - 200 Nm
Grade 10.9: M12 –
120Nm,
