permanently remain mounted to the trimmer. The device
must never be operated without protection cover!
Attention: To protect users from cuts through the thread
cutter fixed to the protection cap, a plastic cover is put
on the cutter blade of your lawn trimmer (X). This plastic
cover has to be removed before operating the trimmer.
Please keep this cover carefully and use it when the trim-
mer is moved or stored.
Install additional handle (Fig. 2)
Turn off the knob and remove the threaded bolt from the
included handle. Put the handle onto the tube as shown
in Fig. 2. Slide the handle to the desired position and fix
it using the threaded bolt and knob.
Cutting diameter indicator / distance holder (Fig. 13)
The bail at the front side of the trimmer serves both as a
distance holder to protect ornamental plants and indica-
tor of the cutting diameter: The trimmer cord only moves
inside the length of the bail when turned downwards.
The trimmer may, however, also be operated with the
bail turned upwards.
8. Putting the machine in operation

Insert the charged battery into the trimmer. The red
locking latch at the battery must properly lock in
place.

Take a safe standing position. Hold the mowing ma-
chine with both hands. Do not put the mowing head
on the ground.

Press switch to start the machine. Release the switch
to stop the machine.
9. Directions for set lenght adjustment and the
use of the set as edge cutter
The tube length may be adjusted to suit your height
(Fig. 4).
To do so, turn the ribbed plastic sleeve clockwise to
loosen the connection. Adjust the tube to the suitable
length and fasten the connection by turning the tapped
sleeve anti-clockwise.
Adjusting the angle of inclination:
Push down the foot-operated switch (A) to unlock the
trimmer head; the head may now be swivelled into two
further positions in relation to the shaft.
Adjustment for cutting edges (Fig. 8+9): Adjust the angle
of inclination as described above. Push the foot-operated
switch (Fig. 8) and adjust as desired (Fig. 9).
Turn the handle (Fig. 6+7): Turn the plastic sleeve clock-
wise to loosen the connection – the handle may now be
turned by 180°. Fasten the connection again by turning
the tapped sleeve anticlockwise.
10. Adjusting the mowing string

Whenever the mowing performance decreases, it is

Note: If the string is shorter than 2.5 cm, it is necessary
to adjust it manually. Press the red push-button on the
coil until it reaches the stop and pull the end of the string
(fig. 11). If you cannot see the end of the string at all,
proceed as described in section 11 titled „Replacing the
Mowing String".

Clean your battery-operated mowing machine thor-
oughly each time after you use it. Remove the grass and
dirt. Clean the ventilation openings. It is best to clean the
plastic parts with a wet cloth and a soft detergent. Never
use aggressive detergents or solvents. Do not pour
water into the machine and do not sprinkle it with water.
Store the mowing machine in a dry place, never expose
it to frost and keep it out of children's reach.

For more extensive maintenance or repairs, give the
mowing machine to the service center.

Turn the mowing machine on and hold it above the
grass.
With the motor running, knock the head on the grass
(fig. 12). The string will automatically extend and the
cutting device will reduce it down to the right length.
Take the battery out of the mowing machine and turn
the machine around.
Then push the two locking devices 1 at the sides
of the cutting head, and remove the cutting head
cover 2 (fig. 10).
Remove the used thread coil and put in the new coil
3 such that the end of the thread comes out of the
outlet at the side of the cutting head (Fig. 11).
Please take care that the spring 4 is properly seated
under the thread coil.
Finally, close the cover by pushing it in its seat. Both
locks must properly engage.
Only use original monofilaments with 1,4 mm ø and
