Section 7. Troubleshooting
Always turn pump off prior to attempting service or repair. Your pump and filter system is operated under pressure
and pressure must be released before you begin to avoid system damage or personal injury. Open the air relief
valve on your pool filter to release the pressure in the system.

Possible Cause
O-Ring missing or improperly seated.
Faulty plumbing.
Dirty filter (one indication: pressure is 8 - 10 psi higher
than normal).
Chlorine output set too low.
Chlorine dispensor low or empty.
Low stabilizer (cyanuric acid) level in pool water (For
outdoor pool only).
Insufficient operating hours of the unit.
Recent increases in weather temp without increasing
the chlorine production of your unit.
Temporary loss of chlorine due to heavy organic load -
rain, leaves, fertilizer or heavy bather load. Pets using
pool.
High nitrate level.
Metals present in pool water.
New pool water. Not shocked properly upon startup.

Corrective Action
Make sure o-ring is secure in the groove on the
vessel housing, not on the cap.
Repair the source of leak in plumbing.
Clean or backwash filter.
Turn the chlorine output handle to a higher output
number.
Refill the chlorine dispensor with tri-chlor tablets.
Add stabilizer to maintain 30 - 100 ppm
(see Section 4.5).
Increase the system operating time per day.
Increase chlorine production by turning the chlorine
output handle to a higher output number.
Increase chlorine production by turning the chlorine
output handle to a higher output number. Set the
pump to run for 24 hours. After 24 hours, recheck
chlorine levels. If still too low, super chlorinate with
alternate source.
Contact a qualified service representative.
Contact a qualified service representative.
Super chlorinate the pool.
Turn the chlorine output handle to a lower output
number.
Manually shock the pool.
Replace cartridge.
Brush down the affected walls and follow the
directions in Section 5.1.1 Shocking.
Balance the water to recommended levels in
Section 4.4.
Adjust total alkalinity to 100 - 120 ppm. Then adjust
pH to within 7.2 - 7.8
Dilute pool with fresh water. Consult a qualified
service representative regarding use of a
sequestering agent.
