teaspoon of salt.
4. Increase the heat to the highest level and
stirr from time to time with a wooden
spoon or spatula. After some time, the
surface of the pan turns brown. This is the
patina we want.
5. Empty the pan and let it cool down. Rinse
the pan with hot water and remove frying
residues. Dry it with a clean cloth. Your
pan is now seasoned and ready to use.
After each use, clean your pan with some
kitchen paper or rinse it with hot water. Then,
dry the pan with a clean cloth and grease it
with some neutral oil or with the Petromax
Care and Seasoning Conditioner. Never use
olive oil for it has a lower smoke point and
burns out to quickly.
OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE
INSTRUCTIONS
• Make sure that the size of the cooker's
hob is equal to or larger than the pan size.
Diameter

20 cm (7.9 in)
sp24
24 cm (9.4 in)
sp28

sp32

Otherwise, heat is unevenly distributed
across the pan's bottom.
• Slowly heat the pan. This allows the pan's
material to dilate.
• Never heat an empty pan.
• For the first few uses, use more cooking oil
than usual. After several uses, the patina
becomes thicker resulting in a much darker
brown and a reduced need for cooking oil.
• Never clean your pan in an automatic
dishwasher or with dish soap. Clean it with
some kitchen paper or hot water, then dry
it with a clean cloth and grease it with
some neutral oil or vegetable fat.
• Avoid any contact with acidic food (e.g.
wine or tomatoes). Otherwise, the pan
must be seasoned again.
