Setting up the device

OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING!
■ Do not put the device under kitchen cabinets or similar. These may be damaged due
to rising steam!
■ The device may only be operated in a horizontal position, never on its side or stand-
ing upright.
■ The surfaces of furniture may contain components that can damage and soften the
feet of the device. If necessary, place a suitable base under the feet.
1. Place the device with a free space to the sides (at least 20 cm) and above (at least
30 cm) on a fl at, fi rm, heat-resistant surface that is not sensitive to grease splashes.

Usage

OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING!
■ Beware of burns! Do not place any metal objects on or in the device. These can
get very hot.
■ Never use the device without the drip tray. Ensure that it is correctly inserted (see
"Assembly") before the device is put into operation.
Although the grill plate has a non-stick coating, we recommend gently greasing
it before using it for the fi rst time. Do not use cooking spray, as this can damage
the non-stick coating!
Line the drip tray (2) with aluminium foil before use to make subsequent cleaning
easier.

2. Insert the drip tray (2) into the frame (3).
3. Insert the grill plate (8) into the frame. Make sure that
the underside of the thermostat socket (7) is placed on
the thermostat holder (6). Check the tightness of the grill
plate.
4. Insert the thermostat (4) into the thermostat socket.
To disassemble the device, carry out the same steps in re-
verse order.
