2 Safety Notes
The unit corresponds to all relevant directives of
the EU and is therefore marked with
WARNING The unit is supplied with haz-
ardous mains voltage (230 V~).
Leave ser vicing to skilled person-
nel only! Inexpert handling or
modification of the unit may cause
an electric shock hazard.
It is essential to observe the following items:
G
The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect
it against dripping water and splash water,
high air humidity, and heat (admissible ambi-
ent temperature range 0 - 40 °C).
G
Do not place any vessels filled with liquid, e. g.
drinking glasses, on the unit.
G
The heat being generated in the unit must be
carried off by air circulation. Therefore, the air
vents (bass reflex openings between the bass
speak ers) must not be covered.
G
Do not set the unit into operation, or immedi-
ately disconnect the mains plug from the
mains socket if
1. there is visible damage to the unit or to the
mains cable,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or
similar accident,
3. malfunctions occur.
The unit must in any case be repaired by
skilled personnel.
G
Never pull the mains cable to disconnect the
mains plug from the mains socket, always
seize the plug.
G
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, never
use chemicals or water.
G
No guarantee claims for the unit and no liabil-
ity for any resulting personal damage or mate-
rial damage will be accepted if the unit is used
for other purposes than originally intended,
if it is not correctly connected, not safely
mounted, not correctly operated, or not re -
paired in an expert way.
If the unit is to be put out of operation
de finitively, take it to a local recycling
plant for a disposal which is not harmful
to the environment.
3 Applications
This compact line array speaker system consists
of a bass speaker unit and four mid-high range
speak er units. It serves for professional PA
music applications at events of medium size
and supplies a maximum total power of 1000 W.
The bass speaker unit has an amplifier for the
two bass speakers and another amplifier for the
mid-high range speaker units to be connected. A
digital signal processor (DSP) is connected
ahead of the amplifiers. On the one hand, this
processor serves for splitting the signal to the
two amplifiers, on the other hand it offers versa-
tile possibilities for equalizing the frequency
response, readjusting the delay time, and limit-
ing the dynamic range. The DSP configuration is
modified with the supplied software via a PC.
The L-RAY speaker system can be ground
stacked or be mounted in a suspended way
(flown). It may be extended to a maximum of four
systems mounted to each other.
It is supplied with speaker cables for con-
necting the speaker units and mounting material
for the suspended mounting.
