1. Safety Instructions
• Please read these safety instructions and the operating instructions before connecting and operating the equipment.
• Keep the operating instructions in a safe place for later reference.
• The monitor generates only a little heat when it is operated but the heat must be vented off and adequate fresh air
supplied.
• To prevent heat building up, never cover the ventilation slots.
• In order to guarantee the circulation of air, ensure that the device is positioned an adequate distance away from other
devices and walls. Overheating will shorten the life of the device and, in extreme cases, may cause it to catch fire.
• If it is operated on enclosed shelves, it is imperative to ensure that adequate space is left.
• If the monitor is taken from cold surroundings to a warm room, wait until it has warmed up to room temperature.
• Protect the device and connecting cable from entry of water and moisture. However, if moisture gets in, never
switch the device on under these conditions. Have it checked by a specialist firm. Moisture can damage the device
and there is also a danger of electric shock.
• The device may only be operated within a temperature range of -20°C to +60°C and at air humidity of up to a
max. of 90%.
• Do not expose the monitor to direct sunlight or place it beside a window. Moisture and direct sunlight can cause
substantial damage.
• Never insert any metallic or other objects through the ventilation slots. This could cause permanent damage to the
device.
• Never apply pressure to the LCD monitor. Excessive pressure may cause permanent damage to the display.
• Disconnect from the mains before cleaning or if the unit is not going to be used for a long time.
Never disconnect the power supply at the cable, only pull the plug out of the socket.
• When laying the connecting cable, ensure that it is not stressed, bent or damaged.
• The device may only be opened up by authorised people.
• Only use original accessories or spare parts.
• The person using this system is responsible for finding out about local regulations, state and national laws and
rulings relating to the recording and monitoring of audio signals and for complying with these regulations.
• Only use damp, soft cloths to clean the housing, never use solvents.
• If the unit is cold, the screen will appear dark. The brightness will adjust after it has been used for a short time.
• The monitor should not be operated for longer periods using a vehicle which has been switched off as this may
empty the battery.
