Transport & storage
n The Match must be secured with anchor systems
suitable for the hook eyes (see illustration 3).
n The wheelchair user must use a three-point safety
belt in the taxi van. These safety belts must be
attached to the taxi van.
n The hip belt must run low across the waist of
the user. The angle between the belt and the
floor surface must be between 30° and 75°
(a larger angle is preferable) (see illustration 4).
n The hip belt must run obliquely across the front
of the body where the hip and pelvis meet.
The belt must fit the body well. The top belt
must support the user entirely, as indicated in
illustration 5.
n The diagonal belt must run over the shoulder
and chest as shown in illustration 6.
n The belts must be tight enough but not
uncomfortable for the user.
n The belt may not be twisted.
n The belt may not touch any wheelchair
components (such as armrests or wheels) so
the belt no longer supports the body of the
user completely (see illustration 7).
n If possible, the Match must not be transported in
tilted condition (max 5˚ backwards).
n The Match should be used with the user facing
forward. The wheelchair should be secured
according to the securing system instructions from
the manufacturer.
n The purpose of the three-point safety belt is to
prevent head and chest injuries.
n To prevent other occupants from being injured,
any worktop must be removed (if present). This
worktop must be stored safely elsewhere in the
vehicle.
n Accessories must be secured or removed if
possible.
