Note: For extension level "Small" (only), the first COMfortel WS-500M
plays all device roles including being the first base station.
COMfortel WS-500M as DECT Manager and Integrator
Central management and configuration station for the multi-cell system.
The Integrator
• contains the DECT subscriber database for domains
• provides a web user interface for configuring subscribers
The DECT Manager:
• manages synchronisation of the base stations in the clusters
• provides an application gateway between SIP and DECT signalling
• controls the media path from the PBX to the relevant base stations
COMfortel WS-500M as DECT base stations
• provide the DECT functions for the cells
• process the media from the mobile device directly to the PBX
• provide connection channels for the mobile devices
Mobile devices
• Dependent on the extension level, up to 112 mobile devices can be
connected (limited by the maximum number of subscribers on the PBX).
• The subscribers can accept or initiate a call (roaming)with their mobile
device in all DECT cells and also switch the DECT cells (handover) during
a call.
