MATERIALS
A 1 Towbar Mainframe with European facing 94/20/EC – A50-1
D 2 Sidearms
E 6 M12 x 40mm x 1.75 Bolts, Lock Washers and Flat Washers (30mm)
F 4 M12 x 40mm x 1.75 Bolts, 3 Nuts, Lock Washers and 2 Flat Washers (30mm)
G 2 M12 Captive Nut Straps
H 1 ZEP35 Electrical plate (not shown)
X 1 Exhaust Rubber Hanger
CB 2 M16 x 50mm Coupling Bolts, Nuts, Lock Washers
FITTING
1. Lower and remove spare wheel. Remove the 4 bolts securing the bumper arms / towing eye to vehicle chassis.
2. Loosely attach Sidearms (D) to vehicle chassis at existing captive nuts using Bolts (E) with Flat Washers. Insert Captive Nut
Strap (G) through access hole in chassis (the tag will require bending as it is inserted). Loosely attach using Bolts (E) with Flat
Washers.
3. Remove the rearmost exhaust rubber hanger to lower exhaust. Loosely attach Towbar Mainframe (A) to Sidearms (D) using
Bolts (F) with Flat Washers fitted as shown below.
4. Ensuring towbar faceplate is square to bumper fully tighten all bolts.
5. Refit exhaust rubber and check clearance around tailpipe, if this is likely to make contact with Mainframe (A) use the Rubber
Hanger (X) supplied - this will lower it approx. 20mm.
6. Refit spare wheel.
Note: This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z1) or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball dimensionally
Conforming to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
Please refer to the vehicle specification for the trailer weight and nose limits, which must be observed.
Recommended torque settings: M8 - 27Nm, M10 - 53 Nm, M12 - 95 Nm, M14 - 150 Nm, M16 - 214 Nm
