Transport and storing
When storing the appliance for winter, it is necessary to
make sure there is no water in the appliance as frost could
be cause the appliance to get damaged.
Unplug the pump every time it is to be transported!
The pump must be emptied to the full extent and stored in a
place protected against frost. Rinsing the pump with
appropriate oil (e.g. vegetable oil) may prevent, to some
extent, mechanical sealing from sticking.
Assembly and first start-up
Safety instructions for first start-up
Caution: The pump must not run empty.
The user is responsible to third persons as far as using the
pump (pumping station, etc.) is concerned
To be used on connections with a safety switch against
stray current (RCD) only!
Before putting the appliance into operation, a qualified
electrician must check whether the required electrical safety
equipment is in place.
Electric connection by means of a socket.
Check the voltage. The technical details on the label must
correspond to the electric network voltage.
Check the feeder cable with the plug for any damage before
the appliance is to be used. Have a feeder cable that is
damaged immediately replaced by an authorised customer
service/electrician. All plugs must be located in non-tidal land.
If the pump is used in ponds, wells, etc. and in appropriate
water equipments, standards applicable in the countries where
the pump is used must necessarily be adhered to.
Electric pumps used outside must be fitted with a rubber electric
cable, H07RNF type, according to DIN 57282 or DIN 57245
standards.
When the pump is being operated, no people or animals
are allowed to stay or plunge in the pumped liquid (e.g.
swimming pools, cellars, etc.).
The pumped liquid temperature must not exceed +35 °C. If
an extension cable is used, it must exclusively be made out
of rubber, H07RNF type, according to DIN 57282 or DIN
57245 standards. A pump that is plugged must never be
touched, lifted or carried by cable. It is necessary to make
sure the connecting socket is always in a distance from
water and moisture and the plug is protected against
moisture.
Before putting the pump into operation, check whether the
electric cable and/or the socket are not damaged.
Unplug the appliance before any work on the pump.
The pump must never be installed in moist shafts (risk
of shortcut, damage as a result of corrosion)!
To avoid or prevent a possible damage (e.g. flooding a
room, etc.) due to defective pump operation (e.g. failure
or defects), the owner (user) is obliged to take
reasonable safety measures (installation of alarm
equipment, a spare pump etc.).
If the pump is defective, repair must exclusively be executed
by an authorised service centre. Original spare parts to be
used only.
Let us refer to the fact that we will not assume any
liability under the standards in force for any damage
caused by our appliances in the cases mentioned below.
Unauthorised repairs executed by unauthorised service
centres.
Using the appliance in conflict with the designation or failure
to use the appliance as designated.
Pump overloading by continuous operation.
This appliance has not been designed to be used by persons
(including children) with limited physical, sensory and mental
abilities or lacking experience and/or insufficient knowledge
even if using the appliance under the supervision of a safety
inspector or if they have been instructed by the safety
inspector on how to use the appliance.
Children must be supervised to make sure they do not play
with the appliance.
Thermal fuse
A probe is built into the engine that automatically switches the
pump off if a certain temperature has been exceeded and/or
switches the pump on after it has been cooled. This increases
the service life of the pump for several times and prevents
thermal damage of the electric engine.
Thermal fuse/engine circuit switch
Cooling down time is app. 25 minutes; after the pump is
automatically switched on, prevent any dangerous situation
related to automatic starting. If the engine circuit switch is
switched on, it is necessary to detect the cause and remove
it (see "Troubleshooting"). Information given here cannot be
used for "home-executed" repairs as they require specific
expert knowledge. A customer service centre must always
be contacted when any failures are faced.
Operation
1. Screw the telescopic tubei (1) with the internal thread to the
pump thread (2) as seen in pic. A.
2. Loosen the clamp (3) of the telescopic tube and set it to the
required height of the storm sewer or barrel.
3. If you want to pump over water from deeper tanks (max. 5
m), interlace the rope through the carrying handle.
Put the pump to the storm sewer so that the stop valve (4)
protrudes over the edge of the storm sewer. When the pump
is being operated, the stop valve (4) works as a water cock.
Using the barrel pump
Area of use: The barrel pump has especially been designed
to pump over rain water from storm sewers. It is ideal to be
used as a watering equipment and to fill water reservoirs
(barrels) or to be used as a watering can using the stop valve
(4) on the telescopic tube.
Tip: If 19 mm (3/4") hoses are used, an accordingly higher
water pressure (higher watering capacity) in the watering
equipment may be expected, which is caused by the slight
loss of friction in the hose.
Telescopic tube
The telescopic tube may be set to 62 or 91 cm. The pump can
therefore be adjusted to various barrel depths. With the clamp
curvature, the pump may be hung to the storm sewer.
Deposited dirt from the storm sewer do not get to the pump in
this way.
Safety instructions for the operator
CAUTION: The pump starts immediately after being
plugged!
The appliance to be used only after the Operating Instructions
have carefully been read.
Safety instructions included in these Operating Instructions
must be followed. Behave responsibly to other persons.
Step-by-step instructions
Connect the telescopic tube with the pump
Put the clamp to the required height
Plunge the pump to the container with water and
close the stop valve
Plug the pump
Water may be pumped by opening the stop valve
