Using the CUBE
Turning the Power On/Off
* Once everything is properly connected (p. 4–p. 9), be sure to
follow the procedure below to turn on their power. If you turn on
equipment in the wrong order, you risk causing malfunction or
equipment failure.
1.
Make sure that the CUBE's [MASTER] knob and the volume
of the devices connected to the CUBE are set to 0.
* Set the [MASTER] knob to 0 before you connect anything to the
CUBE's INPUT jack or i-CUBE LINK/AUX IN jack.
2.
Turn on the power of the devices connected to the CUBE's
INPUT jack and i-CUBE LINK/AUX IN jack.
3.
Turn on the CUBE.
* Before turning the unit on/off, always be sure to turn the volume
down. Even with the volume turned down, you might hear some
sound when switching the unit on/off. However, this is normal and
does not indicate a malfunction.
* This unit is equipped with a protection circuit. A brief interval (a few
seconds) after turning the unit on is required before it will operate
normally.
4.
Turn on the power of the devices connected to the LINE
OUT jack (
CUBE-80GX only
PHONES jack.
5.
Adjust the volume levels for the devices.
Before switching off the power, lower the volume on each of the
devices in your system and then TURN OFF the devices in the
reverse order to which they were switched on.
* If you need to turn off the power completely, first turn off the unit,
then unplug the power cord from the power outlet. Refer to "To
completely turn off power to the unit, pull out the plug from the
outlet" (p. 2).
Using SOLO
[SOLO] (MEMORY) button can store the settings of knobs other
than the [MASTER] knob together with either the [JC CLEAN] or
[LEAD] settings.
Storing the Panel Settings
Here's how to store the current settings of the knobs.
NOTE
• When you execute this procedure, the previously stored settings
will be lost.
• The stored settings may be lost if you send the CUBE in for
servicing, or if a malfunction occurs, or if an incorrect operation
is performed. Make a note of important settings so that you
won't be inconvenienced if they are lost. Roland can accept no
responsibility for recovering lost settings, nor for any damages
that may ensue from such loss.

Storing the settings for JC CLEAN
1.
Select JC CLEAN, and set
the knobs as desired.
2.
Hold down the [SOLO]
(MEMORY) button for
several seconds.
The SOLO (MEMORY) indicator
will blink.
Once the settings have been
stored, the indicator will change
from blinking to lit, and SOLO
will be selected.
Storing the settings for LEAD
1.
Select LEAD, and set the
knobs as desired.
2.
Hold down the [SOLO]
(MEMORY) button for
several seconds.
The SOLO (MEMORY) indicator
will blink.
Once the settings have been
stored, the indicator will change
from blinking to lit, and SOLO
will be selected.
Calling Up Stored Settings
Here's how to call up the channel and knob positions (settings).
1.
Press the [SOLO] (MEMORY) button so it's lit.
* If you move any knobs after calling up settings from memory, the
settings will change to the positions of the knobs.
* When you operate a knob, the SOLO indicator will light briefly when
the knob position matches the stored setting.
Editing and storing SOLO
1.
Select SOLO, and set the knobs as desired.
2.
Hold down the [SOLO] (MEMORY) button for several
seconds.
The SOLO (MEMORY) indicator will blink.
Once the settings have been stored, the indicator will change from
blinking to lit.
