Information about dehumidifying performance

The dehumidifying performance depends in particular on the room characteristics, the
room temperature and the relative humidity.
The higher the room temperature and the relative humidity, the greater the dehumidify-
ing performance will be.
For use in residential rooms, a relative humidity of approx. 50 to 60 % is sufficient, where-
as it should not exceed 50 % in stores, archives etc.
In the case of room temperatures below 2 °C and/or a relative humidity of less
than 40 %, economical dehumidification is no longer guaranteed with this class of
appliance.
Special dehumidifiers are available from the Trotec range for use under such climatic
conditions.
Obtain specific advice from the Trotec specialist advisors if necessary.

Defrosting system

The moisture contained in the room air condenses as it cools down and forms a layer
of frost or ice on the evaporator lamellae, depending on the air temperature and rela-
tive humidity. This frost or ice layer is automatically defrosted by the appliance.
The appliance's built-in hot gas defrosting system switches on the defrosting cycle as
necessary. The dehumidifying operation is briefly interrupted during this defrosting phase.

07. Taking out of operation

To switch off the appliance, turn the mains switch so that it is in operating mode
"0" (OFF).

08. Transport

Due to the large wheels, the grip recesses on both sides and the ergonomic adjustable
handrail, the transport of the TTK 400 can be accomplished easily by one person, even
over difficult terrain or on stairs.
Each time before changing the location:
• Switch off the appliance and pull the mains plug out of the socket.
• Do not use the mains cable as a tow rope.

Change of location

The TTK 400 dryer can be carried in an upright or horizontal position when changing
its location and can be loaded in an upright or horizontal position for transport. In order
to avoid transport damage, always ensure that the appliance is secured reliably.

Handrail

The appliance is equipped with a handrail that can be attached in a horizontal
or vertical position for ergonomic transport.
The handrail is installed horizontally in the delivery condition.
If you wish to install the handrail vertically, proceed as follows:
1. Unscrew both handrail fixing screws from the front horizontal handrail mounting
points (E.1). Note that the handrail fixing screws are longer than the other fixing
screws on the appliance due to the greater distance to the housing.
2. If necessary you can also slightly loosen the two handrail fixing screws
at the rear horizontal handrail mounting points (E.2) in order to facilitate
the subsequent turning of the handrail by 90°.
3. Now unscrew the housing screws at position E.3 as shown in the following
illustration.
4. Turn the front ends of the handrail by 90° (E.4) so that the handrail
is in a vertical position.
5. Now insert the two longer handrail fixing screws into the corresponding
holes at both ends of the handrail and fasten the screws tightly to the
appliance (E.5).
6. Insert the two shorter handrail fixing screws removed in step 3 (E.3)
into the two front horizontal handrail mounting points and screw them
tightly to the appliance (E.6).

09. Care and maintenance

Regular care and compliance with a few basic requirements will ensure trouble-free op-
eration and a long service life of the appliance. Contamination of the appliance is un-
avoidable due to its intended purpose of use.
The air drawn in by the condenser dryer can contain building dust and other dirt which
can settle on the lamellae of the cooling unit, causing the dehumidifying performance
to be significantly reduced, since the air can no longer cool down optimally on the
lamellae.
Dust and dirt can collect at the water outlet and block it, so that the condensate can
no longer drain off properly via the water outlet. Instead, the drip dray in the appliance
overflows and the water runs directly out of the appliance.
In order to prevent the dehumidifying performance of the appliance from deteriorating
and to ensure trouble-free operation, the appliance must therefore be cleaned regularly.
Pull the mains plug out of the mains socket before carrying out any
work on the appliance!
