7. Cleaning, maintenance and
ordering spare parts
HAZARD!
Always take the battery out of the equipment
before starting any cleaning work.
7.1 Cleaning
Keep all safety devices, air vents and the
motor housing free of dirt and dust as far as
possible. Wipe the equipment with a clean
cloth or blow it down with compressed air at
low pressure.
We recommend cleaning the equipment
immediately each time after use.
Clean the equipment regularly with a damp
cloth and some soft soap. Do not use cleaning
agents or solvents; these may be aggressive
to the plastic parts in the equipment. Ensure
that no water can get into the interior of the
equipment. The ingress of water into an
electric power tool increases the risk of an
electric shock.
7.2 Maintenance
Worn out or damaged cutting units should only
be replaced by an authorized professional (see
address on warranty certifi cate).
7.3 Changing the blade (see Figures 14-18)
Be sure to wear work gloves!
Only replace the blade with a genuine Einhell
blade, as this will ensure top performance and
safety under all conditions.
To change the scarifying blade or the optionally
available dethatching blade (Fig. 16/Item 11,
Art. No.: 3405573), proceed as follows: Remove
the two socket head screws (Fig. 14/Item 20). Lift
the blade on this side and pull out in the direction
of the arrow (Fig. 15). Pull the holder (Fig. 16/
Item 21) off the blade used before and then fi t it
to the blade to be used now. Slide the new blade
in the direction of the arrow (Fig. 18) onto the
square-ended drive (Fig. 17/Item 3) and press
into the holder (Fig. 18). Use the two socket head
screws (Fig. 17/Item 3) to secure the blade again.
Apply grease to the square-ended drive from time
to time so that the blades can be changed easily.

7.4 Maintenance
Ensure that all mounting components (i.e. screws,
nuts etc.) are always tightened so that the
equipment can be safely operated at all times.
Store the equipment in a dry room. All the metal
parts should be cleaned and then oil to ensure
that they provide a long life. For best results, clean
the plastic parts of the machine with a brush or
rag. Do not use any solvents to remove dirt.
For space saving storage undo the star nuts
(Fig. 7,8/Item 8) and fold the push bar together as
shown in Fig. 16. Ensure that you do not damage
the cable. At the end of the season, perform a
general inspection of the equipment and remove
any deposits which may have accumulated.
At the start of each season, ensure that you
check the condition of the machine. If repairs are
necessary, please contact one of our customer
service centers (see address on warranty
certifi cate).
