INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
2011 - GEB1102VT
Install the pipe connections in such a manner that maintenance and
repair can easily be carried out.
The pipe connections are situated at the of the fan coil unit. Ceiling
model : standard left; Wall model : standard right.
Labels on the fan coil unit point out the water inlet and outlet
connections.
Use pliers on the heat exchanger's pipe connections and hold steady
while firmly fixing the pipe connections, thus avoiding bending or
tearing open the water connections of the heat exchanger. (page
19).
Pay attention to the labels on the casing.
Rinse the piping and dispose of irregularities
Desaerate the heat exchanger.
After draining off the water, there might still be water in the
roundings of the heat exchanger. Store the fan coil unit frost-proof .
IV.4 Electrical installation
A. Important information
In case of maintenance, the power supply must be interrupted and
secured against restoration.
The electrical installation must be carried out by a qualified
electrician. Follow the local prescriptions, norms and safety
requirements.
The cable-laying must be done according the prevailing prescriptions.
The type and section of cable must be determinated by the electrician.
The number of conductors depends on the motor type and the speed
control. See the wiring diagrams of the motors and speed controls.
The cable-entrances must be sealed to prevent water drops from
entering.
B. Scheme
pages 527-529
Motor with operating capacitor;
Alternating current 1 x 230 V; 50 Hz;
Motor isolation class : B;
Motor protection class : IP 31
Direction of rotation : the motor has the right direction of rotation
when the air flows out of the air diffuser. The direction of rotation
can not be changed.
Connection test : compare the current intensity in all speeds with the
label on the air curtain.
DO NOT connect an electronic continuous speed manipulator or five
step transformer regulator
Don't build bridges in the terminal boxes.
Different fan coil units, of the same size, can be connected in parallel.
Fan coil units from different sizes can not be connected in parallel
with one speed control.
See also specific manual of the speed controls.
scheme 1 : power supply 220 V
For connecting a fan coil unit with
- air change over box, damper and anti-freeze thermostat
- electrical auxiliary heating with limit thermostat
- push buttons on the unit
This diagram illustrates the internal wiring as it is done in the
FAN COIL UNITS
factory.
In case an air mixing box and /or electrical auxiliary heating is not
supplied, the corresponding wiring is eliminated, and the respective
push buttons are replaced by cover plates.
Power connection to terminals R and N - Fuses must be provided
by the installing technician in accordance with the appropriate
connection value.
The room thermostat should be connected to terminals T1 and T2.
Control :
By way of room thermostat and selected speed (air through put and
heat release).
In practice , heating is done at speed 3. in order to maintain the
temperature, a switch is made to speed 1 or 2 according to the
prevailing outside temperature. Same control for cooling.
The room thermostat can be equipped with a programmed clock.
scheme 2 : power supply 3 x 220V
To be used for large powers in the electrical auxiliary heating
system.
Diagram 2 is, in principle, identical with diagram 1. The electrical
heating elements are connected in a delta circuit.
The kW power which can be installed according to the fan coil unit
can be looked up in the tables of the auxiliary heating.
scheme 3 : power supply 3 x 400V
To be used for large powers in the electrical auxiliary heating
system.
Diagram 3 is, in principle, identical with diagram 1. The electrical
heating elements are connected in a star circuit.
The kW power which can be installed according to the fan coil unit
can be looked up in the tables of the auxiliary heating.
scheme 4 : SC.329 - remote control
A small box for remote control can be supplied for the ceiling models
or other designs.
The push buttons are located at the front of the box. Inside there is
a terminal strip, the numbering of which corresponds to the terminal
strip in the fan coil unit.
The matching terminbals must be connected to one another according
to the configuration of the fan coil unit (air change over box with
damper and /or electrical auxiliary heating).
The room thermostat can be connected either at the remote control or
the fan coil unit (terminals T1 and T2).
scheme 5 : SC.4913 - room thermostat
Connect the contact teerminals of the room thermostat 1 and 2 to the
terminals T1 and T2. Eliminate the connection between T1 and T2.
If the room thermostat is equipped with a termal feedback, establish a
connection between N and terminal 4 of the room thermostat.
scheme 6 : central operation of several fan coil units
It is possible to operate and control 1 to 6 fan coils by means of a
central push button control. A condition is, however, that all fan coil
units are of the same size.
Operation can be handled from the push buttons of a fan coil unit or
from the remote control box. The power connection of any electrical
auxiliary heating system must be established directly.
* Remove the links between T1 and T2. The anti-freeze thermostat
must be connected in series.
