9. START-UP
a) Outdoor Sensor
—
Open the battery compartment on the outdoor sensor's rear by pushing the battery
compartment lid (19) downwards.
Check the switch (17) for the transmission channel. It must be in the left-most
position "1". Otherwise, the basis station will not recognise the outdoor sensor!
—
After switching the transmission channel to "1" if necessary, insert two type AA/
mignon batteries into the outdoor sensor battery compartment (18) with correct
polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/-).
After the batteries have been inserted, the outdoor sensor will transmit its
measured temperature to the basis station every 60 to 64 seconds.
—
Close the battery compartment again.
—
The outdoor sensor can be suspended by a nail, hook or screw using the wall
mounting hole (16).
With the flattened bottom of the battery compartment lid, the outdoor sensor
can also be set up on a level surface.
Ensure that the outdoor sensor will not fall down; this would cause damage.
The outdoor sensor is suitable to be used in a protected outdoor area. It should
be placed so that it is not subject to direct solar irradiation, because
temperature measurement will otherwise be incorrect.
Precipitation on the outdoor sensor also leads to incorrect temperature
measurement because the casing cools off.
We therefore recommend careful selection of the site of set-up for the outdoor
sensor to measure the correct temperature.
Also observe the chapter "Transmission Range" for setting up the outdoor
sensor and basis station.
Never immerse or submerge the outdoor sensor in water; it would be destroyed!
