3 Applications
This CD player has especially been designed for
applications in PA systems. It can e. g. be used
for playing background music and is equipped
with a 6-fold CD magazine for uninterrupted
music replay.
It is possible to replay audio CDs, CDs you
have burnt yourself (audio CD-R), and CDs with
titles in the MP3 format and WMA format. How-
ever, problems may occur when playing re -
writable CDs (CD-RW), depending on the type of
CD, the CD burner and the burning software
used.
4 Placing and
Connecting the CD Player
The PA-2460CD is provided for mounting into a
rack for units with a width of 482 mm (19") but it
can also be used as a tabletop unit. For rack
installation 2 rack spaces (rs) are required =
89 mm.
Prior to the connection of units or changing exist-
ing connections switch off the CD player and the
units to be connected.
1) For connection to the following unit (e. g.
amplifier, mixer) different connection possi-
bilities for the audio output are available at
the CD player:
1. coaxial digital output (26)
2. optical digital output (27)
3. analogue stereo output via the RCA jacks
(28)
4. analogue stereo output via the XLR con-
nections (29)
5. analogue mono output via the XLR con-
nection (30)
Connect the matching output to the audio
input of the following unit.
2) For continuous operation of the CD player in
case of power failure connect a 24 V emer-
gency power supply unit (e. g. PA-24ESP
from MONACOR) to the screw terminals DC
INPUT (25).
3) For remote control of the CD player via a
computer, connect the computer to the jack
RS-232C IN (31). See chapter 6. For remote
control of another unit, connect this unit to the
jack RS-232C OUT.
4) Finally connect the supplied mains cable to
the mains jack (24) first and then to a mains
socket (230 V~ / 50 Hz).
