Dear customer,
Congratulations on your choice of the robbefiber Cloud Dancer
GRP glider from the robbe Modellsport range. Many thanks for pla-
cing your trust in us.
The aeroplane can very quickly be completed ready to fly. Please
read right through these instructions, the separate information
sheets and the safety notes before attempting to assemble and fly
the model, as this will make it much easier to complete the tasks
required.
Please refer to the separate sheet for details of essential acces-
sories, tools, aids to building and battery chargers.
The building instructions
This model calls for a certain amount of experience on the part of
the builder and operator, and for this reason we have deliberately
kept the instructions concise.
The aeroplane is of modular design, i.e. for a complete model you
require the fuselage kit with tail panels and small parts, plus a uni-
versal wing set and type-specific winglets.
The wings are compatible with the scale sailplanes of the robbefi-
ber series.
The model is assembled by following the sequence of illustrations
and the brief accompanying texts.
You will find a drawing on page 4 which will help you identify the
plywood internal parts.
Note regarding the building instructions
The Cloud Dancer can be built either as a glider or an electric-
powered glider.
These instructions cover the construction of both versions. You
need to decide which variant you wish to build before starting con-
struction.
A Cloud Dancer Power Set is available if you wish to build the elec-
tric version; the kit components are already prepared for these
components.
Certain parts of the instructions can be skipped, depending on the
version you intend to produce.
These sections apply as follows:

Figs. 7 - 10:

Figs. 11 - 19:

The plywood parts S5 - S7 are not required for the pure glider ver-
sion.

Assembly and operating instructions
Cloud Dancer
All directions, such as "right-hand", are as seen from the tail of the
model looking forward.
The models' specifications are listed next to the illustrations and
the recommended accessories on the following pages.
Radio control system
For this model you will need a computer radio control system with
at least ten channels. We particularly recommend 2.4 GHz systems.
Before checking the working systems please set the servos to neu-
tral from the transmitter (transmitter sticks and trims central).
When you wish to fly the model, always switch the transmitter on
first, and only then switch the receiver power supply on.
Reverse the sequence when switching off.
Both the glider and the electric glider versions require a separate
receiver battery. The speed controller's BEC system is not designed
to power nine servos - read the instructions supplied with the con-
troller.
Whenever you are working on any part of the radio control
system, please take the time to read the instructions supplied
with the units concerned.
It is also important to read the instructions supplied with the bat-
teries and battery charger before using them.
Glued joints, suitable adhesives
Always trial-fit parts (dry) before reaching for the glue bottle.
Be sure to roughen joint surface with abrasive paper beforehand.
Use epoxy for all glued joints unless stated otherwise in the instruc-
tions.
Where other adhesives - cyano-acrylate ("cyano"), silicone sealant -
are required, this is mentioned in the text.
Loctite
(L) Joints marked with this symbol should be secured with Loctite
medium-strength thread-lock fluid (robbe No. 5074).
Colour schemes
All the major model components are supplied with a white-pigmen-
ted surface finish. This eliminates the need to paint the model.
Self-adhesive decals are supplied in the kit to provide the finishing
touch.
