i5 Interface Overview

To connect the UPS to an i5 you need:
S
An Eaton-supplied Relay Interface Card and AS/400 interface cable
(labeled 152601975-001), located in the FC 2936 carton labeled
"Cable Kit for IBM iSeries"
S
An IBM-supplied UPS interface cable (labeled 1827), included with
the server
Follow the instructions included with the Relay Interface Card and Cable
Kit to install the card and set UPS monitoring functions in i5/OS t .
Installation may include removal of an existing X-Slot card from the UPS.
Connect the cables as shown in Figure 21.
