Field of application

When used in complete equipment or protective systems, that have been
separately tested and certified by a suitable testing authority or authorised
person, the enclosures are suitable for use in Zone 1/2 or Zone 21/22
hazardous areas in accordance with
IEC/EN60079-10-1 and IEC/EN60079-10-2.
The enclosure materials employed, including the exterior metal parts, are
made of high-quality materials which ensure a corrosion protection and
resistance to chemical substances corresponding to the requirements in a
"normal industrial atmosphere":
- AISI 316L (1.4404) Stainless steel
- AISI 304 (1.4301)Stainless steel
(Electro-polished or natural finish
- AISI 316L and AISI 304 painted
(not permitted for dust (2D) applications)

Cooper Crouse Hinds GmbH or their agent for additional information on
the chemical stability of the non-metallic parts.

Application / Properties

The empty component enclosures are intended for use in complete
equipment and protective systems, for the distribution of electrical energy.
E,g. lighting and heating circuits, control circuits and intrinsically safe
circuits.
The responsibility for the suitability and proper use of the empty
enclosure lies with the user.
The information given in points 2, 3 and 4 must be considered
when determining the suitability for the use of the enclosures.
5.1 Ex-Cell flush mount enclosure
The basic design of the "Ex-Cell flush mount enclosure" is as per standard
Ex-Cell enclosure. Lid seal materials and geometry are identical too.
The mounting feet are replaced by a mounting frame, suitable for flush
mounting vertically or horizontally.
The lid mounting options are hinged/quarter turn, hinged/bolted or fully
bolted as per standard Ex-Cell enclosure.
The size range is from:
5.2 Ex-Cell Eagle enclosure
The basic design of the "Ex-Cell Eagle enclosure" is as per standard Ex-Cell
enclosure. Lid seal materials and geometry are identical too.
The top of the enclosure has a sloped roof with overhanging drip bead to
prevent pooling of liquids and accumilation of other debris. It is suitable for
washdown application.
The lid mounting options are hinged/quarter turn, hinged/bolted or fully
bolted as per standard Ex-Cell enclosure.
The size range is from:
229 mm x 152 mm x 124 mm to
406 mm x 406 mm x 200 mm.
305 mm x 305 mm x 152 mm to
610 mm x 508 mm x 200 mm.
